Interesting video, to be sure. I remember driving by this place countless times through the years, and visiting it once when I was seven, I think. I've never seen it like this, though...very nice photography. All around the Lake Mead area, up until the late '80s, I think, you could see abandoned mines and structures not far from the road, but I believe all of it has been demolished. Do you have any recommendations of any place around the greater Las Vegas area to go explore that's away from the beaten path, and not so much trampled on over time? You would figure I'd know this, being born and raised here...

This makes me think of the series "Hell On Wheels". It was so good, in one weekend, I watched all 5 seasons available free on Tubi. That show is very good! It follows the story of the beginning of the east to west railroad. And all the nasty shit that was pulled during it. Enjoy the ride, pun intended. ✌🙂

Wow, that's cool that you exited the hospital through the emergency department where I worked from '82 to '87, a few years before the base was closed. I loved that hospital, it was brand new, state of the art for the time. It saddens me to see it so vandalized.

I was stationed at the hospital emergency department in the late eighties. It's sad you say to explore safely, not break stuff and vandalize. My hospital was state of the art and beautiful when the base closed. Not any more.

Look at the art in the little burger shack. Amazing watercolors by a local artist.

WOW Jack! You got just about everything wrong. Did you stop and talk to any of the long time residents? I lived and worked in Trona for 45yrs. My wife was born and raised there. We both made a damn good living there. We sent both our children to a university debt free. We retired debt free. We bought a house in a 55+ community that is much closer to our children DEBT FREE. Maybe you should do a little more research first before you go badmouthing someone’s community.
