I like David; a bona fide Beach Boy; he did a great job on their 50th anniversary tour as the de facto lead guitarist retaining the spirit and style of Carl even playing a Fender Jaguar
I really want to find these 1962-63 videos of David but i dont know where if any does let me know.
The guy was absolutely awesome.
Big Mistake 😂😂😂
Great news that they found him, huge relief for his family etc.
David is an outstanding surfin' lead guitar player. Would have been a great person to remain in the band.
Beach Boy Love
I really liked the song that Billy Hinsche, David Marks and Matthew Wilson performed. Does anyone know the name of it? Thanks.
You and I by Dennis Wilson
That’s a really good book Lovely talent David LEE Marks
Great Book !! Great Talent!!David Lee Marks!!
I always thought David Marks left the Beach boys because Murray was a real a****** and he had enough of it
The Beach Boys are known by many as the Boys of Summer but to me they're the Good Old Boys of Rock and Roll. ❤😂
David is more or less the catalyst which formed the Beach Boys unique style. 😅😊
By the way, Dave, hair ISN'T EVERYTHING! 😅😊
I think David has confused Al Jardine going on the road playin Bass instead of Brian with Glen Campbell.
That was Brian out in the crowd did anyone see him?
I met David in June of 20133 at a Meet and Greet in Atlantic City. This was a year after the 2012 Reunion tour, the tour where Love kicked Brian, Al, and David off of. In 2013, he was with Al, touring with Brian's band. I saw him again later that year on the combined Jeff Beck concerts. What a nice guy. I wish he had kept touring with Brian over the last decade.
Aww man thanks for sharing this. I was in this parade in Kindergarten. Room 8 ms Vasquez of Whelan Elementary. Good times!
Really cool to see these types of interviews from my favorite band members. I love the history and the story telling. The Beach Boys and Brian Wilson are the soundtrack to my life.

YOU REALLY CALL THOSE THE BACKYARDAGINS? WHAT KIND OF BACKYARDAGINS ARE THOSE? 2:34
I am finding all kinds or old videos of David and the reunion of the Beach Boys and have really enjoyed them over the past few years. I wish I could have been around for this class/concert, would have been a blast from the past.
Really like to see David Marks and hear him talk about this incredible history. But even though I am no fan of Bruce Johnston, he joined the band in 1965, NOT the late 60s as David said. Bruce came from money and he stays all about money today touring with Mike Love.
Two great stars . Shelly looks cool in those threads kinds grunge
Amazing Man...
two awesome people, wish they had stayed together
I love seeing David Marks speaking to all of people
I can’t believe how young he was when they started. Can you imagine being 14 and having a top ten record? Wow.
Do you think Hawthorne will ever have its family town feel again? After COVID it feels like there are a lot less families and a lot more single males or young couples with a dog. Not sure if anybody else is noticing this?
The only two genuine celebrity crushes I’ve ever had in 46 years of life are Shelley Fabares and Peri Gilpin…and DHP gets to be tight with both 😭😭😭😭😭😭
It would be great if you could date these videos in the description, however, I understand if you do not have that information to share.
Great to see my classmates!!! Class of 2003!!!
Shelly is such a cool person God Bless
Hey habib!
I just subscribed # 150 36th like with 2,349 likes and 149 subscribers I enjoyed this video it was well done Thank you David for the musician you have become imagine saying I was a Beach Boy on there 1st 5 albums an accomplishment to be sure
she's aged really well...
People say that Pete Best termination from the Beatles was the worst career/life failure that has happened to a person in the music industry. I would put David Marks resignation from the Beach Boys as even worse since Pete Best did not have a choice in the matter. I know that David Marks was still a teenager but didn't his parents guide him not to give up a good thing? Once his own band failed any sensible person would have begged the Beach Boys for his former position in the band.
They did fine without him...Brian was the beach boys and after awhile didn't even use them in the studio anyways
Well then, I guess you didn't know that he was a replacement for Al Jardine, but when Al rejoined the group, he became expendable. Since he also didn't want to get involved in Murry Wilson's toxic atmosphere, the only solution was to leave. So no, it was not comparable to Pete Best's situation in any way, which was a lazy comparison to start with.
@@mikeymutual5489 He wasn't "expendable". He actually had a major falling out in early August '63 with Murray Wilson and quit. His parents had him stay on until his contractual obligations were finished in early October of that year. Brian was already bugging out of shows (before the infamous first nervous breakdown) and having Al and David play shows together was the norm.
@@ms8596 Yet the band continued on perfectly well after David left, like I stated. Thank you for the history lesson anyway.
Alzheimer's and all forms of dementia are nothing but cruel. There won't be a cure in time for me. :-(

I wonder where about in Hawthorne was that event?..I would like to have gone.
Shelley looks horrible with the clown style hair that’s popular with feminists.
Thks4AllUdo..
I'm the girl dancing in the brown dress
Actually?
Westbrook's fingers mimic Morgan's
I am not sure what is harder. Having Alzheimer's or watching your close loved one go through it.
The bell sound has me laughing.
Hi
Wow fantastic. David Marks is just a great guy with both feet on the ground. His recordings with Dave & The Marksmen and Moon are also great underated stuff. Which he could have commented a little about another great guy from those early days: Gary Usher !!!!
