A bunch of hardcore kids came out for Quicksand and were mock moshing to Brainiac, whose weirdness most of the crowd did not appreciate.. Taylor jumped in the pit and returned to the stage with a bloody face. Hence the "the show must go on" comment before Cultural Zero.

I saw Nirvana in 1993 at the Albuquerque convention Center and after a song Krist asked the crowd jokingly "what do you all wanna hear next?" to which I shouted HAIRSPRAY QUEEN! and I got a weird stare from Kurt😁 and Krist! They didn't play it though.......

I feel like they probably forgot how to play some of those early tracks, and got super ingrained into one set-list during 1993, which i feel is what contributed to Kurt feeling like performing was a 9 to 5 (plus the packed schedules)

Accurate, there are Minutemen songs with guitar that sounds like a jumbled cacophonic mess. And I say that as a Minutemen fan, but I never really got into their "Retreat" song. I like "Maybe Partying Will Help," though, even though the guitar sounds like a metal trash can falling down stone stairs.
