I went creek fishing for northern pike and smallmouth bass in a scenic creek. I started the day fishing with minnows below a dam before entering the opening of the connected creek where I spent the day exploring and catching several pike and bass in two different hot spots. I caught a total of 17 fish on this creek fishing adventure! The video also includes short clips of the creek scenery. Wat...

In this creek fishing adventure, my friend Mike and I fished a small creek with minnows and ended up catching several fish including some big bass and a surprise northern pike measuring 21 inches. This was the first time fishing with minnows in this creek and it paid off. We used large minnows to attract bigger fish. My biggest catch of the day was a chunky smallmouth bass measuring 18 inches! ...

Creek Fishing With a Nikko Hellgrammite Ned Rig for Bass
Просмотров 867Год назад
This video includes footage from two separate days of creek fishing and exploring a new place I've never fished before. I fished this small creek with a Ned rig, using my tried and true bait for bass, the Nikko hellgrammite. In the video, I fish with both the Natural and Obsidian color. On both days of this trip, I got a late start with the fishing due to heavy morning rain, but I was still abl...
Creek Fishing for Bass With the Obsidian Nikko Hellgrammite

I went creek fishing for smallmouth bass with a brand new pack of Nikko Hellgrammites in the Obsidian (solid black) color. In my previous videos (check out the links below), I used the Natural color and caught several bass, so I was excited to try a new color and compare the two. The first hour of fishing was slow compared to my previous trips to this creek, but after exploring further upstream...
Small Creek Fishing With a Z-Man Micro TRD - Chubs Love It!
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.Год назад
I went small creek fishing for panfish with the Z-man Micro TRD stickbait. The Micro TRD is the mini version of the larger TRD. I fished this bait in the deepest hole I could find in this tiny creek, using a Ned rig with a 1/30 oz jig. I didn't catch any bluegills or bass but I caught a total of eighteen creek chubs, some of which were jumbo size. I have no doubt this bait will catch panfish, a...
Creek Fishing With Worms vs. Hellgrammite - Which Bait Wins?

For this challenge, I fish with the Nikko hellgrammite on a Ned rig jig and my friend fishes with worms and a slip bobber rig. I go creek fishing with the Yum Dinger stick bait to see how many smallmouth bass I can catch compared to one of my favorite baits, the Nikko Hellgrammite. Creek Fishing Tips for Catching Jumbo Creek Chubs
Просмотров 8 тыс.Год назад
In this creek fishing video, I go on a quest to catch big creek chubs using live bait. I provide tips on tackle and how and where to catch them. I caught several chubs on this adventure, one of which was a hornyhead chub. Creek chubs make awesome live bait for catfish and northern pike, and supposedly, they’re delicious to eat. Here's another one of my creek fishing videos: ruclips.net/video/2E...
Im going fishing soon and i gonna try with some maggots or bread. Which one is better?
For chubs? Bread might work, or wax worms. They're easy to catch.
@HookandReelAdventures ok thanks
Clubs were caught and smoked from the Great Lakes now there aren't as many. Tasty for sure.
I might bring some chubs home to eat some time. I've watched a few videos of fishermen cooking them and said they're pretty good.
fry is good too
even ppan cook lol
Man! I am jealous! You had the whole pond to yourself and you absolutely killed it.
It was fun. Using minnows there, the fishing is so much better. I've used artificial stuff there but the difference is night and day with live bait.
Beautifilul river
Normally the water is crystal clear but we had heavy rain and the water was murky.
@22:00 that kinda looks like a shiner/chub hybrid
It's possible, but I think it was a hornyhead chub.
i use circle hooks a lot for wacky rigs . thanks for sharing your experience
Thank you for watching.

I own the Kentucky state record for creek chubs, except i don't. In 1994 i caught a 14 inch creek chub out of Rockhouse creek in Letcher Co. I didn't submit it because i didn't know there was a record for creek chubs. It's a huge regret in my life.
Wow that's huge for a creek chub! You probably thought it was a bass reeling it in.
@@HookandReelAdventures Actually, when i first saw it i thought i hooked a rainbow trout.
That was a monster. You know you caught it and it was the record. Congrats
The chubs you were catching with bumps on their heads are red tail chubs. The best chub for walleye and small mouth at least in the upper Midwest.
One of these days I'm going to catch some and use them for bait.
We call them horny heads.
👍 They're aggressive little fish.
Creek chubs, or horny heads as we call them, are as good to eat as any other panfish.
That's what I hear. I might bring some home to eat this year. Maybe I'll do a catch and cook video.
You found the hot spot 😂
Non stop action.
love your videos.. i live in nw indiana not too far from your video locations... lots of guys with fishing videos scream and like idiots.. i really enjoy your laid back vibes and interesting tips on how you fish certain lures.. top shelf
Thanks 👍
Creek chubs I know have the bumps on the heads.
They do, yes.
Love the channel! Are you running an extranal mic with your hero 11?
Thank you. No, I wasn't using an external mic.
This was a great video 👍
Thank you :) I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I get a spot just like this.. 42" pike 43" muskie are my personal best.
Nice! I'd like to catch a big one, but even the small ones are fun to catch.
You ever get creek chubs where your at 12+ inches we caught a few 12-15 inches in our creek but we use them for catfishing I was thinking about keeping one as a pet to see how the interactions with other chubs and etc
I never measure them but I caught a chub in my recent multi-species creek fishing video that was pretty big. Keeping one in a fish tank would be interesting. They are aggressive fish.

They do have a weird looking mouth. Fun fish to catch.
My kind of spot! Nice smallies!
Thank you. 👍
Hey, Those chubs are fun to catch. Hard to get them to bite around my area. Saw you commented on a video from @fishingfreedomtennessee5339. Good friend of mine. New sub for you. Keep it up. Tight Lines!
Thank you. The jumbo ones are fun to catch. You can't go wrong with worms for creek chubs, but the Micro TRD I used in the video works just as good.
Creek clubs are good bait
I've heard they're good bait for catfish. Have you ever used them as bait for northern pike?

I prefer meal worms. They like them just as much as eorms and last a lot longer
I'll have to try those some time. I know meal worms are great for bluegill. I caught almost twenty chubs in a new video I uploaded yesterday using a stickbait.
Hard to beat the ol' worm for numbers. They hellgrammite was working well also. Looked kike an awesome day out there. Great job!
Thank you. Yep, worms always catch something. Originally we were going to do a challenge using two different hellgrammite brands, but using live bait with artificial bait made it more fun.

Im a month late but bread is good I caught 2 on a piece of bread but I was also chumming them up but they wouldn't even let it sit they were eating as soon as it hit the water
Nice catches. I've never used bread for creek chubs, mostly worms, but sounds like it works. Yeah sometimes it's hard to catch other types of fish with small baits, especially worms, when there are so many chubs around.
I love Creek fishing and I'm craving it. Your video is perfect timing. Thanks, yes more Creek videos
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I love fishing in creeks too, it's my favorite way to fish. I'll be uploading more creek fishing videos soon.
One of my favorite ways to fish. Gotta love those creek smallies on the wacky rig. Great job!
Thank you. Yep, creek fishing is also my favorite way to fish. They are fun to catch on the wacky rig. I might do a video with a Senko to compare the two.
@@HookandReelAdventures nice! I use both senkos and yum dingers. Senkos have to be my favorite, but dingers work almost as well, and they're definitely a whole lot cheaper. Also great for when you want a slower fall because they don't sink as fast.
I do like the slower fall. I'll have to do a video some time creek fishing a Senko. I think maybe the Senkos are more durable and don't tear open as easily as the Dinger.

I love wading small creeks for monster chub in the summer. I usually block out a couple of days to do it. Your setup is pretty fancy. I just use a Dock Runner(heavy cover on several streams I fish) with a split shot, 8 hook, and Gulp Honey Worms because they last a lot longer. I found out the hard way that chub will tear up worms, plastics, and Gulp minnows faster than I can put them on. Make sure to take pliers because their mouths are very tough(and the slime smell on your hands lasts all day).
Thank you for sharing your creek chub set up. I love creek fishing as well. It's one of my favorite ways to fish. I've never used the Gulp worms you mentioned, but I might try them some time. Creek chubs are definitely more slimy than bass and other types of fish I've caught. They're aggressive little fish.

The fish you weren’t sure about is also a creek chub. They grow those bumps on their heads during the spawn. Dad called them horned dace.
Interesting, thank you. I believe it's a male hornyhead chub. They have those red markings and bumps on the head during the spawn.
its a red tail chub, red tail minnow.
Sorry if i missed it but what size hook for creek chubs?
I caught all of the chubs in the video with a size 6 Eagle Claw Aberdeen hook, but a smaller hook would work fine too. Hook sizes 6-10 are ideal for creek chubs.

lol I don't think I'd be in the water if that were the case. The colors and body shape of bluegills and sunfish are similar to piranha.
