for question one, you can simply subtract (x+1) from (x+6) and get 5, which is equivalent to 20%, and if we multiply this by 5 (in order to get 100%), we get 25 and all we have to do next is subtract 1 from 25 because the equation in hand is x+1. it gives the same solution that x=24

For 19b) Surely k(x) = -2x as well? As (-2x)^2 = the required 4x^2. So would this not have a knockon effect of making the answer plus or minus (2x^2 + 10) ?
