Hi @markpratley8691 , I don't use a group to find routes. I have a yearly subscription with the green lane association, which gives me access to their app called "Trailwise 2". I can use that app to search nearby lanes, people can leave comments about the lane so it gives me a general idea of what it will be like before I use it. Another good app I hear is from the TRF if your a biker also. I will likely swap to using that next year.

@tom_mccarthy having a car is a great asset, i got a moped when I was 16, a normal bike when I was 17. I only got my car licence 2 years ago ! My car is much less exciting than my bike for sure.

@SOVIETHAPPY1 warwickshire is a wonderful place to live, I've been up and over these hills a little now, definitely something I will do more in the summer. Quite the challenge getting around with no clutch

@markpratley8691 I did the field section and woods in a defender a few years ago, actually drove past it on my way home from work this evening. Might tackle it at some point on the tenere but it gets dicy on that lane in winter

Let's me do so many things I wouldn't have been able to before. How was morroco ? I've only heard good things about riding there.

@ it was great, aiming to do two weeks in the Pyrenees and the Portuguese TET this year. I am on Motoz tractionator gps, long lived but needs more grip on the front.

Police don't really care as long as you are not riding like a douche, Front L plate on a bike is dumb anyway, 90% get fit on the forks and can easily be knocked off, plus as another said carry a spare and just say you got a spare in your bag.

@dexrose8578 I'm part of the green lane association (the trf would have been a better choice in hindsight) but the map decides to panic the moment I lose the connection, is the trfs map internet dependant ?

@ hi the Greenroadmap cant be used as a satnav as such and is dependant on internet. Its intended use is for you to see the legality of byways and then use an app or device of your choice to plan a route. Personally I use the Greenroadmap to check legality snd then plan a route on either OSmaps app or Osmand which I have found to be reliable. I use either a Carpuride display linked to my phone or just the phone itself depending on which bike Im riding. Both methods work well. Hope this helps

Love it, never thought much into using more than just the 1 map to achieve a route but it makes sense, I could plot a gpx then hit the trails without losing the map, will do this for the next ride

I prefer my big boy bike. A crf would do this better no doubt...but the tenere is such a pleasure to own and ride I wouldn't trade it. Maybe one day I'll have both.

You are likely right, have been playing with the audio to find a happy balance between being legible and blowing out eardrums when the mic peaks from time to time. Appreciate the feedback though! I'm always looking to improve.
