    HI ....what size are the kit bearings ? Can I use the stock super 5sc center diff?

    • @dracoprecision
      @dracoprecision День назад

      Hey there, the kit includes 13x19x4 bearings for the outdrives and the diff itself requires 8x16x5 bearings which I can provide. You can use the stock 5sc diff and just transfer some parts over like the diff case, and spider gears.

    Awesome video mate as always, I think that's the first time I've ever seen you roll your car! It may be cheaper to make your own ramp man, make it so it comes apart for transport or put some wheels on it so you can push it. I'd love to see a video of you sorting out the problems on camera, it makes it easier if anyone has any problems, they can just watch one of your videos rather than be contacting you all the time.

    This does look great, however please can you confirm if the new shocks towers can only use your standoffs? I was thinking years from now if one was lost or broken, could factory stock stand offs be used? If not then an option to buy your original towers would be good? Or is this unnecessary worrying! ?

    • @dracoprecision
      @dracoprecision 13 дней назад

      If the diameter of the standoffs is 4mm some other ones could be used. The only issue is if the length of the standoffs is the same. Don’t worry though I always have a stock of small parts like this.

In regards to your design at the end of the video: you know my feelings on the M3, so far its doing the job and taking some very heavy loads with zero stress. Now, having said that, it looks to me that the new design is going to put all of the load on the new Steel standoffs instead of the screw going through the Standoffs and the shock tower. Its taking All of the load, off the M3? If thats the case, Outstanding, Absolutely beautiful! 👍👌 With the M3 and standard standoffs, I can safely bring my car down from a planes cruising altitude, with those, I'll be able to bring it down from Orbit. 😅

    I would purchase one of everything for my future build!! Love it man! Definitely use 7075 for the angled front and rear chassis braces and towers. Not sure if 304 stainless is best choice for the horizontal braces- have you compared its tensile strength to other available materials? This may not matter since the rod ends are plastic which will take a lot of the impact forces. Is the upper shock mount screw m3 on this model? This will be a weak point on big jumps with 7075 towers. My only issue with your shock tower is all the shock mounting options- if I was to drill thru for a bigger m4 shock mount bolt, would i break into the other holes on your shock tower? Thanks

      Great news! Yes all the parts will be made of Hard Anodized 7075 for this platform. I have checked the tensile strength of 304 it is quite similar to 4140 at 500-700MPa. The braces have a centre section of 8mm in diameter and tapering to 7mm in diameter, I feel they will be stronger enough, but I plan to test them and see if they bend. I will revisit material choice if there are issues. Thanks for the idea! For the M3 screws have you tried better materials like 10.9 grade screws or titanium screws? Yes, the hols if drilled to 4mm would break into the other holes.

      @@dracoprecisionfor my bashing style, huge air and bad landings, no m3 screw holds up for me as a shock stand off bolt, no matter what the material. All the big aftermarket companies are making m4 (and m2c just released m5!!) shock standoffs for 1/8 scale truggies such as the sledge and Kraton 6s/ outcast etc. That is the only thing I hope you consider changing on your design. Integrate m4 shock stand-offs into your tower design 🙏 If not, I believe the m3 stand-offs will be the weakest link on the truck after all your mods are installed

      @@RCboyzTV Thank you for the feedback. I will look into this I just hope it doesn`t mean a redesign of the shock cap. The other option would be using a one-piece standoff which eliminates the need for a screw.

      I haven’t looked at my vorza truggy yet, it’s still in box. But I planned to upgrade the shock stand-offs no matter what if they were m3. I could be jumping the gun though. Maybe the stockers will hold up fine? I’m not sure. Either way, Thanks again for your effort towards improving the hobby for all of us!

    Hey mate, righto few things. Love everything you've got going on here, it looks functional but Aesthetic as well, you've done an outstanding job mate. I would make those brace attachment points separate, opens up more options for you to sell. I can Not wait for that Motor Mount in a Buggy Option man, I know we have spoken about it, and you will get to it when you can, but God damn that looks awesome!! As far as replacing the lower plastic front and rear bracing, I'm all for it, as it shares that part of the structure with the Buggy, Definitely make that up! But, I would love a centre brace that ties the front, rear shock towers with the centre diff (Buggy) I need all the help I can get! 😅 Great video, and as always outstanding Designs my friend.

      Thanks man! I always enjoy talking with you. I fully support anyone getting to RC and thank you for all the support and kind words! The motor mount will currently work with the buggy as it is so no need for a Different design. the Centre braces do not work in the buggy that’s only for Truggy. Thanks for the input!

    Wow this looks superb, I would order for the truggy and buggies I have! I would prefer separate brace attachments for a cleaner look and lower cost option. Alloy replacent braces for the stock plastic front and rear would be a nice option also, I do like the cable tidy on the stock rear brace though, maybe a cutout/loop in situ to cable tie wires to it if it's not possible to have a 3d printed plastic cable tidy attach to your new alloy brace? Would a newly designed front brace allow for a thicker front driveshaft?

    wow everything is looking great! is the center diff top gonna be 6mm thick? or get reinforced with maybe a gusset since it takin impact and pressure from the shock towers. whats size screw are you using for center diff mount top as well since m5 m6? i do like the towers with option to have the center brace in case some one wants to update later or not run them.

    • @dracoprecision

      The Centre top plate is 5mm thick. I will check how this holds up under testing. The screws are m3 screws which should be sufficient. Thanks for the feedback.

    I own an Alza based, TVP converted Savage XL. It's running a HW 56xx sized can. The main issue I have is that the stock battery boxes break off. I've 3D printed a set and reinforced them with a steel plate on the bottom, but I usually get one hard run on the boxes before they crack. They don't break off thanks to the steel plate. For very hard bashers, the weak battery boxes are the achilles heel of the Savage XL Flux regardless of who makes the aftermarket TVP. Funny enough, I also own a Flux XL V2, and those OEM battery boxes hold up fantastic on hard bashing. It's because of the way they secured them to the TVP whic is the key. Flatland bashers will not have issues but the battery boxes/how they mount need to be very strong for hard bashers.

    • @dracoprecision
      @dracoprecision 4 месяца назад

      I personally have never had any issues with the battery boxes. I do some jumps but I would say I don’t bash hard. Do you do large jumps and run quite hard?

    • @lipoz-n-nitroz4012
      @lipoz-n-nitroz4012 4 месяца назад

      @dracoprecision Yes, I do. I use my Flux XL V2 more over my more expensive Alza build because the battey boxes on the V2 don't break. I prefer to run my Alza build because of the giant motor and center diff but I can't unless i build full steel battey boxes. I'm still looking for a less heavy solution.

    • @dracoprecision

      I see. What about aluminum mounts? These mounts attach to the tvp and then the battery box. Unless the battery box itself breaks then you’d need a whole new assembly.

    Hpi savge is a cool line if you could get parts in usa. They should of re-did the diffs the always gernaded. The trucks super fun dont do a ton of diff oil that makes the explode to when it expands. Locktight everything on diffs

      Thank you for the comment. You can now actually get Savage Parts in the USA from Hobby Recreation Products. I recommended checking out their website. The machined bulletproof gears are the best HPI option and if shimmed correctly are very reliable. I don’t over fill my diffs but fill as much as I can and never had issues.
