Healthy Relationship with Dental Patients
It's important to prioritize your mental health.
If you encounter red flags in dental patients, these can negatively impact your well-being, it's acceptable to consider saying no to providing treatment. Red flags can include patient behavior, communication issues, or situations that make you uncomfortable.
Here are some steps you might consider:
Assess the Red Flags:
Identify specific behaviors or situations that raise concerns for you (aggression, verbal abuse, non-compliance with safety measures, or any other behavior that makes you uneasy).
Establish Boundaries:
Clearly communicate your professional boundaries to the patient. Let them know what is acceptable behavior during the treatment. Be...

How to take a Facebow record like a pro! - Hanau / Denar
Awesome tip!
Love your story
Why use a Denar Facebow with Hanau wide vue ? Also I see no anterior reference !! 😂
Hi there! Great question! This facebow is compatible with the hanau. You can see they fall under the whipmix family and if you look at the website you will be that they are compatible. Why did we use this particular combination? It’s because this is what they provide the students at most dental schools which is why I did the video. The anterior reference is captured during the facebow not the mounting.
@@DrCharlieCage you got me intrigued now Dr Cage, I'll have a look at the brochure of the articulator 😏
@@AmritAssi :) I have the link here! www.whipmix.com/products/denar-slidematic-dental-facebow/
Thanks for the link. I'll dig up more 😏
I also cannot handle the numbing injection, even when they numb my gums BEFORE with a gel....it's sometimes even WORSE than anything else. My gums are VERY sensitive and i CANNOT deal with the needles....
I’m sorry to hear that! There are options such as sedation to help with the experience
My problem is: i have real PHOBIA of dentists but they don't believe me because i am FULL of tattoos and piercings and they say: OH, a little pain don't bother you! Truth is: my pain level is 0 and i have NO self control, just like a child. I also have Borderline Syndrome and panic attacs. Noone believes but :tattoos do NOT hurt- and piercings only hurt for a SECOND- IF, because they get numbed. But i cannot handle pain that is more than that. I scream, i jump, i cry, i shriek..... My teeth are very loose and hurt (it's genetic, the dentist told me...) but i am scared AF, it's just like going to a slaughter when i must go to a dentist.
I agree with you! Having tattoos does not mean you are not afraid of needles in your mouth. I’m a dentist and I still have fear when I get work done.
Very interesting, thank you 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you Dr Cage for such an informative video on how to transfer the bite to the articulator! You are a godsend.
Glad it was helpful!
what is it
It's a heating pad. More info int eh description
Is 3 mmm always for all pts
Great question. The goal is to have 3mm of material thickness in the posterior.
Hi, is there a specific thickness of material that we should have between front teeth or we just adapt the height of the front to the 3mm of the back thickness? Thanks for the reply in advance doc!
Dentists are crooks of course y I u brush as well
That’s certainly generalizing. I do not charge my patients a dime for my work that I’ve been doing for the past 12 years but that’s ok. Maybe if you listened to my whole video you wouldn’t have assumed my opinion.
@DrCharlieCage is there any way you can help me please. I have been having a recurring issue with face swelling from tooth abscess. I have been having such a hard time finding a good dentist in GA
@@TheKaydij I live on the other side of the country. If you have swelling you should see a dentist right away! I hope you can quickly find the care you need!
Oil pulling healed my entire mouth
Good for you!!
This was so informative! Thank you so muchh!
Thank you for sharing!
Please use Gloves for trimming bite impression
They are sprayed before transferring to the lab and can be handled without gloves.
@@DrCharlieCage actually i m also Prosthodontist.. one article clearly states immersing is suggested to kill most microbes...but it affects properties of impression material so use spray...it means it doesn't kill all microbes not...its better than nothing but not best...gloves are for your safety doc and your patients from cross infection 🙏
@@nihalg23 I understand, there is always an article to support one thing or another. so my question is, did the study you mentioned say the change was statistically significant? As a prosthodontist, I'm sure you understand the areas that can introduce inaccuracies (impression material, impression technique, mixing stone, mixing technique etc). No matter what, verification of your mounting should be done by assessing the occlusal stops on your patient intraorally and comparing it to the model. Having unsanitized bite-registration on stone models sounds unsanitary and understanding a stone model cannot be sanitized properly due to its porosity. Even if it was sprayed, there is plenty of evidence that shows it can affect the hardness of the stone which can lead to decreasing the surface hardness resulting in more abrasion and then...inacurracies. This is all a moot point as most clinicians are moving to digital impressions and bite registration. Anyways, as a post-graduate educator for dentists and practicing clinician for over 11 years, I would not advocate for using bite registration without sanitizing it (ALL LABS SANTIZE BITE-REGISTRATION UPON RECEPT TO THE LAB). Also understanding the limited contact time with chemicals on the bite registration and the minute effects it may have on accuracy. Please reconsider sanitization issues and if not, then we will just agree to disagree!
I love the optragate! Initially, I found it annoying to use because it kept slipping out of the patient's lips. With a little bit of patience and repetition, it has really helped me reduce my left-hand mirror strain as I no longer have to retract the cheek when combined with isolite for a restoration. :)
Any little bit helps to reduce hand fatigue! ❤️
Amazing insights! Thanks for this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing video!! So helpful
Glad it was helpful!
Way to go hun
Thank you so much!!
Helping ❤
Thank you for the clarity! I’m 1 year late but the information definitely aged well. I’m team manual because I’ve convinced myself that the electric doesn’t clean clean my teeth 🤦🏽♀️🤣
For the longest time I couldn’t tolerate an electric. I did convert about a year ago and don’t think I’ll ever go back but there is no way we can say that only one tool works for everyone! Stay brushing! 😂 ❤️
Wish it was that easy lol
What’s the challenge with this? I would like to help!

@@DrCharlieCage Thx❤️
This is great info. Thanks ❤
I’m so happy to hear that!
🤩
what landmarks are you looking for:?
Hi there! It depends on how you are mounting it. Look at the articulator and it's compatibility with the facebow. I know hanau third point of reference is for frankforts (infraorbital rim) or ivoclar's facebow with stratos articulator can be the same or use campers plane (ala of the nose)
Best guide 👍
Glad it helped
Doc after wax up you will take index for temporary????is it
That’s right! I do things different nowadays to expedite the process. I love a products called telio onlay. I quickly mold it on the patients tooth with some anatomy, check occlusion, light cure, and then take an index of that.
would you be able to change the vertical distance of the transfer jig if you have no room on the max denture to place plaster material ?
Not without introducing inaccuracies in the mounting. The best bet is to thin out the maxillary cast. It sounds to me like the capturing of the facebow needs to be adjusted to prevent that from happening again
When I told my dentist that I need another injection, he kept saying “I’m almost done” and didn’t numb my mouth..
That’s very sad to hear. Luckily most aren’t that way!
Гипсовка не корректная,
Care to elaborate?
These tips and tricks in day to day clinical dentistry are awesome 👍 only passionate dentists can relate to them.. thanks
Glad you like them! You are 💯 on it!
What is the cost for this? I would imagine it's pricey since most dentists don't use it
I’m sure you can call your local rep for there exact cost. Most dentist actually have no idea what the tool is. Balance cost vs benefits and see if it ideal for your practice. For me and the dentists I teach, it is!
Can I get this for a 5 year old? My daughter will not let me brush the teeth under her tongue.
I usually just slide the toothbrush between the tongue and teeth. This won't help with tongue placement. Maybe having them lay down with their head on your lap that way gravity will help give you access to their teeth.
El tamaño Small es el que mejor se adapta a la boca de los pacientes
It definitely depends on the patient. For my population, I stock up more on mediums. 😆 I guess they have bigger mouths!
Mam six veeners case facebow articulation the centric relation should be taken ya case should done in mip
I’m not sure if I understand your comment but let new try and let me know if this makes sense. If doing 6 veneers only (not changing posterior occlusion) I would mount my casts in MI. I will take and mount CR record if I’m changing posterior occlusion (eg. increase VDO, full mouth rehab). Generally…understanding that there are always exceptions
@@DrCharlieCagethanku after preparation face bow tranfer and bite registration should taken then mount both cast .
@@harshsharma7057 yes, if a facebow is taken, then mount that, then mount mandibular cast in MI.
Thanks for the video..been used it for 10 years! It is complex yet affordable..
Amazing description of the product ❤
