a tip someone told me that helped me land better with my ollie's is instead of pulling the front/ slide foot a bit back, keep the front foot centered on the board like if this was where the middle of ur foot (left side is front foot in this) { . • } (center of front foot a bit back) { • • } (center of front foot in the middle) & you slide your foot from that position w/ your whole foot on the board instead of just toe it seems counterintuitive but it's really helped me to ensure i land on the screws rather than on the nose/ somewhere off center. best of luck!

Let me save you a couple hundred dollars and tell you do not slide your foot up and down on the board for 10 minutes straight that’s doing like 2 weeks worth of skating damage to your shoes💀

im in a very similar situation too you as im also practicing ollies and shoves. i would recommend finding a more experienced skater to help i started skating with my brother who has been skating for years and i progressed much faster then when i was on my own
