There are tracks where I like the Ford or the VW more, but that's rare. Yeah he drove let's call it uncompromising, but he still was in the lead so I guess he is entitled to and it's ok. Had to back off, otherwise that curb would have launched me into orbit 😬

Yeah I know this first hand....I like road and oval, both on pavement and dirt, as it can be seen in the videos🙂. And years ago I thought how hard can it be to turn left all the time , well it's not that easy and I had to learn this by being bad, ha. It's just a different kind of racing. And of course not everybody likes to race the same stuff . That's the great thing about iRacing, there should be a series for everyone 👍

Yeah great racing in this one 👍. I use OBS for recording in 1080p (since my monitors are 1080p) and in the mkv format. With my settings in OBS a typical race then has a size of around 4-6 gb and it's a really good quality. But I then use Davinci Resolve for upscaling the video to 4k, youtube uses a better codec in this case. But the 4k files are huge of course.

Awesome! My brother had 2002's back in the day, great cars. Would be very cool if cars like this made their way to iracing, but I fear it wouldn't be too popular with the younger folks 😑

Yeah this track has such a nice flow to it 👍. But you're right, iracing really needs to give some love to dirt road , it's long overdue

My thoughts exactly 😄

It's an older Fanatec CSW 2.5 which is not direct drive. I think it has up to 8 Nm torque. On road I use quite a lot of that power, the maximum of the base without of course getting into the area of ​​clipping. On ovals a little less and on dirt even less. On dirt, for example, a lot of torque is rather annoying. In my experience, it is not necessarily just the power of the force feedback that is important, but sensitivity and the corresponding forces. But that is a question of personal preference. Of course you should be able to feel the vehicle and the road well, but at a certain point this does not get any better with even higher steering forces. If you have to work "against" the steering wheel instead of with it, then it's probably too much imo 🤷‍♂. I doubt the 6k, I already feel like an imposter with the 4k 🤭

@midfieldracing219 Thank you for your valuable feedback I've watched a few RUclips vids on CSL DD wheelbase setups, but don't change it between race cars I'm thinking what you do is a good idea and adjust between different race cars I bought the power upgrade so mine has 8 Nm of torque I'm also thinking I could do better with my loadcell brake petal I always seen to be 2 seconds of the leaders most of the time

@@Brian-cz8vu With iRacing I used a Logitech G27 set for years, it was quite cheap and did its job. Only downside was that the brake had no loadcell, which makes a huge difference. Of course there is much better stuff to get, but where does it end. No one is spending huge money just to try out simracing. So I'd maybe have a look at used wheels/pedals like a G27/G29 set or the cheaper Trustmaster stuff. I did it like this.

I had 3 Porsche 944's 87 944S 89 944TS Silverrose & 89 944TS with stroker 2.4 400 hp 😀 I've raced VIR, Road Atlanta Skip Barber and many more tracks Here in the US Now too old for all that goes with having a track car these days, so iRacing it is The unpredictable trailing throttle oversteer drives me crazy 🤪
