Hello there! I'm trying to deside between the Kahakka 25 and the MR 2DAP. I'm 1.98 m tall (6ft 6'') and i'm worried about the Kahakka not having an adjustable torso length harness, as the MR has with it's Futura harness. I'm planning to use the backpack for edc and day hikes. The maximum weight that i'm going to carry will be 10-12 kg (most days the weight will be bellow 6kg). Have you ever tried the MR 2DAP and how would you compare it to the Savotta in terms of comfort and quality? Thank you in advance, Greetings from Greece!

Hey there Mr. Keyes. I’m no armchair expert when it comes to felling trees. I have only limited experience. Seems you’ve got half the battle covered , which is understanding there’s significant danger and that you need help. The other part the experts can help with is the experience to know what to do and how to do it. I can tell you understand this. So many surprises await, take care! :). Good to see you had so many hands helping out to make quick work of it.

These folks really did a fantastic job, best year yet :) And it was just a perfect mix of people present to talk and get things done with those trees finally. Add in my very overbearing American nature, and I walked straight up to who I've been needing to reach for a while and said "Hey follow me and look at these trees." The hospice likes that I am never at risk of losing a paycheck. So sometimes I say things in front of people that just need to be said, without hiding behind diplomacy.

We use those Fiskars rakes at work (wooden handle but same head) and let me tell you now they are probably the most bombproof tools we have in the barn. Only ever had to buy a new one once and that's because it got lost lol, but the other two are older than I've worked there (3 years) and at least another 3 years on top of that having worked with a previous gardener. And this is intense year-round use, not being pretty with it, throwing it around, pushing it into shrub stems and bending the prongs, raking on concrete, etc. Bit more flex in the old ones but good as new.... I'm rambling, I guess you can indeed nerd out about rakes, but point being they're a good investment! You're an good dude Tim, I hope to help out soon bud 🤙 Get better soon!

Man, I had a similar set up to yours! Changing mat, but wipes, as well as, a collection of diapers size 7 and 4 for the older and younger kid, respectively. Also attached two orange velcro mesh bags into the Askare to make sure we always have some pacifiers with us, as well as, hair clips for the girl. Furthermore, I attached each a 2x2 pouch on each side for smoothies, cookies, fruit bars and a small water cup 😃🎉😃🎉. Sometimes I feel that it makes me happier than the kids, who happen to take it for granted (of course 😅). Even my wife, however, mentioned how practical it is, so she also started carrying it despite of its tactical look 😅😅

Hi Tim, I’ve bought the Kukkaro and 2x2 GP pouches after seeing your video (you’re Savotta’s best advertiser), but I find that the pouches sit very close to the pack - so close in fact that the adjacent sides squeeze each other. A video of exactly how you attach them would be very welcome. Thanks again for your excellent videos!

They used to sell e.g. lots of Mil-Tec which cannot be found in their catalog atm. And there's no sense getting too crazy with it when you don't have to As for Canadian shipping, I'm not too sure on that right now. There are a few really cool things cooking in the background that are taking up the extra time and energy at both companies. But, everyone is tracking the needs and wants, it's all about logistics at this point.

gotta try some alternatives out for my kahakka, the knot was digging into my side last time i took it out. Only on one side oddly.

There are a few ways to do it. My hope here is just to teach someone's hands how to tie it once, then they already know how to tie it in all the other orientations too

My Kahakka 15 also dug into my lower back, I followed a tip on reddit on how to turn the knots to the outside and they no longer dig into my side. Weirdly the knots on the Kahakka 25 don't bother me at all

Should I put up another video with an alternate way? But that does make sense on the 25L, it has a wider base that brings these loops further away from you

@@Tim_Keys I wouldn't bother, as long as folks know there's more than 1 way to tie the knots they can experiment and find what works for them. Mostly I feel bad for some who sent the Kahakka back cause the knots dug into their back, not realizing you can just flip them around and it works just fine. And good point about the Kahakka 25's wider base.

Long hair suits you. Haven't seen Jaakari S on the channel yet. Also maybe the small hip pack? Sorry it's just those are the items I'm interested in.

Thank you, I definitely enjoy having it back after a long time being short again As for the Jääkäri S and small hip pack, I have a few things lined up for these. I just need the time and to knock some other stuff out first
