Sensei Billy Doak, "This Is Ju Jitsu!"
Ju-jUtsu.
i love what he is doing but the attacks are not realistic nobody punches like that.
Amazing, beautiful, masterful.
It judo aikido bjj boxing wing chun in one that's it so you basically know can say I know wing chun aikido bjj boxing judo
I learned this when I was learning goshin ju jitsu I I never could do these moves as clean even when I was black belt but he was 4 degree
The very first technique, come on man, 😂
😅😅😅
I would like to take it, but i have been injured in a car accident!
Had the honour to meet and train with Billy doak in mid 90s. I can quite honestly say id seen nothing like him...ever. A superb martial artist
Nothing short of a legend this man!!!!
Ju Jitsu is great. You can't really spar in it though: that's why my old club also taught judo.
What a flow and relaxation! This is exactly the essence of JuJutsu... You find the Ju(Softness) in his movements. The great combinations of Atemi, Nage and Kansetsu waza techniques. Samurai were using these techniques for war purposes. So one can find such great combinations. Ossu!
I was lucky enough to be a student of Sensei Bill in the 90s. Giant of a man but taught you to think and not just rely on violence. I remember him saying "there's nothing wrong in retreat, except for you dean, your legs too buggered so let's will out how you can survive best"
Why always the U K guy freezes and gets thrown around not counter striking. Bullshido.
Is that Yoko Guruma?
Sumi -gaeshi! Sacrifice throw!
Yoko Guruma is also a sacrifice throw. I’m with @steve013 on this one. Either way, it’s a nice taiotoshi counter!
The big disadvantage of JJJ it's not a sport and no kumite. Drilling only can be used to solidify e.g. contact Karate, wrestling, and grappling disciplines where everything is isolated but possible to compete
Billy Doaks, was one of the very few teachers outside of Aikido that I got to train with. I grew up in Hereford and by the time I I met Billy had studied Aikido for about 5-6 years. He did a demonstration at a Budo event host by Gwynn Jones Shihan, (can’t remember where), I found his techniques remarkably precise and consistent, it was jaw dropping seeing his demonstration, not least his Uke being able to take it. Off the mat, an incredibly generous man with his time if you had questions. I’m very sad to hear he has passed away. Condolences to his friends, students and family.
Hi there was the seminar in Wales by any chance mid 90's? There was ju jitsu karate aikido and one other?
@@garethsmith585 That’s right, the other was Hapkido and that guy turned up wearing sunglasses and just straight out knocked his student out which we all thought was disgraceful, and Billy didn’t like that one bit you could see the look on his face he was not happy.
Only just found Billy Doak Ju Jitsu he was amazing . It brought me to here 💯🔥🔥🔥👌🏼👊🏻
Holy smokes thow throws
Alter Schwede was für ein MEISTER 🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝
I’m calling BS on a lot of this. Looks more like aikido than Jiu Jitsu. No body is going to allow so much time with these robotic looking strikes.
Those who speak do not know, those who know do not speak!
dude, this is an instructional video for educational purposes. Sensei often taught us to drill a good counter to different attacks (and from different sized opponents). Trust me this guy was a machine. But also a patient teacher. My ankle was fussed and my spine had been operated on before I started training so he took time out to adjust things for what I could and couldn't do. Sometimes it wasn't possible, but then he'd just teach me a different move that would work. And I can say it did work on the street when I moved out of Wales to a barracks town.
Why is there even a damn debate on BJJ and JJJ? All this came from the Japanese. In which the Gracies take a lot of credit for. Everyone should loook up Kosen Judo. Befire the Gracies called it Brazilian Jiujitsu. JJJ is still one of the most effective classic martial arts out there. Even Gracie Jiujitsu is basically JJJ with their version of using leverage
Very well said! 100%!
內行的老司機!!
Esse é o Famoso Jiu jutsu sem regras que os samurais usavam pra Guerra
brilliant instruction master, awesome details 🥇🥇🏆🏆 show series techniques on LOUIS 🥋🥋 like ruclips.net/video/NJV0HIN5GWI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/LnpMCGYDJs8/видео.html toe hold, kneebar, bow and arrow choke, finish on the back, sankaku jime (every sankaku), gogoplata from mount, guard longer videos pretty please thank you have fun!
Honestly think Billy would've kicked Steve Seagal's ass!
Absolutely love this i teach Korean Hapkido..its almost a direct reflection of this art..Rip Kyoshi Billy..You do and will Always have my Absolute Respect Sir!!
There's no way to fake being thrown like that! Aikido is completely different than this style! Billy looked in really good shape!
Love this stuff, hidden gem! I can tell this is so different from Aikido! Because Aikido never does throws full force like this! Billy's techniques are ten times better than anyone aikido!
A real shame this guy is no longer with us. One of the best I've ever seen by a country mile!
glad he is gone
@@gerard3344 Why is that?
@@BB-mv9wl he’s just a troll
@@WeslyJackson Not a particularly good one, at that.
RIP Billy 🙏
Had the privilege of training under his tutelage for a short period of time a class act in and out of the dojo a true gentleman
When next RUclips video my friends? 🥋
This isn't jujutsu, this is some unknown style of Gendai Budo. This just looks like Aikido.
This Is a modern style of japanese Jujutsu
Offer the Divine mercy chaplet for Billy
I trained with Billy in the late 80s really good fun 👍
EXCELENTE DEMOSTRACION
Why no more video from him?
Unfortunately he passed away in 2009!
Loved my time traing under Billy's tuition back in nearly 1987 for almost 3 years or so in the old church in Llanelli, Wales. Some of the techniques showed by Billy within this video are exceptionally fulfilled. With that being said, anyone who personally knew, and trained under his tutelage will agree, "That was Billy. What else would you expect?" LOL. A GREAT man. A humble man. A man also built like the broad side of a barn in his weightlifting/bodybuiling days too. Another sport Billy turned me onto in my youth. Billy, you had a great effect on this mans life, that I still rely on to this day, Sensai Doak.
Was it 1997?
@@goshinju-jitsuassociationu215 Hello. No. 100% It was pre-1987. I'd just turned 19, turning 20 that year I had just turned 23 before I had no choice but to move on into everyday life that took me onto another course to provide for my wife and family. Side Story: Billy presented me with a plaque he had for 1st Dan recipiants, and I asked him if he'd permit me to create something from it. I was heavily into glass engraving at the time, and I created a picture framed glass engraving of the permit for the next recipient of their 1st Dan. Billy was blown away, he thanked me, and said there was a gentleman who was about to be graded for their 1st Dan, and he said he'd present it to them as an extra memoir for their achievement. As it was a 1 of a kind creation, this presentation would be extra special too. Unfortunately, getting married, and needing to move on into life, I never found out who actually received the plaque that took me almost 2 weeks to complete.
@@therhino9661 The first Goshin club Sensei opened was in Carmarthen on 16th Feb 1992.
@@goshinju-jitsuassociationu215 That may have been the date that the Camarthen club originally opened. Because Sensei Doak was indeed in the midst of opening a second club in Camarthen when he was already teaching within his first Dojo in Llanelli, in the old church, on the corner of Inkerman Street and Murry Street. (I can't remember the name of the church, but I believe that church has since been burned out during an act of arson by some local teenagers a few years ago?!?) The entrance to the Llanelli Dojo was through the Inkerman Street side gate, That was just before the old sign, '50 Yards To Stop', through the big double doors, where you turned left into the Dojo. prior to turning left into the Dojo, in front of you is where the church used to store spare chairs and tables. 35-45 other students who used to attend can also confirm this to be fact. (I was born in 1967, so my remembrance of the time frame, plus my maths, does in deed make it around 1986-1987). Hope this helps.
@@therhino9661 Sorry but that's wrong! Carmarthen was the first club to open! I was there on the first night of carmarthen opening! The first club in Llanelli was I a small Chapel not far from where inkerman Street was, though it wasn't long before the club moved there! I was at inkerman Street on the first jight that opened! It was first of all upstairs before it moved into the basement!
That omaplata was very nice.
Proper Jiu Jitsu and Not that GROUND ROLLING Sport Jiu Jitsu from Brazil. These guys can show BJJ a thing of 2 about real street effective Jiu Jitsu
Billy...what a gentleman!!!
Who invented Goshin Jiu Jitsu, I am just curious as I cannot find this anywhere and I've tried to he honest
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kodokan_Goshin_Jutsu
I have a question about Goshin Ju Jitsu, who created it?? As not been able to find anything about it's origins
Supposed to have been two welsh brothers into judo who where influenced by Kashero Abbey a Japanese judo/kendo/aikido practitioner who passed on his unarmed combat knowledge to them that he'd learned as a solider in WW2. Like any of the marshal arts, they tend to be over complicated techniques against a training partner offering all but no resistance with a set attack.
Looks nasty to be fair 👌 Great techniques
Very good and funny videos bring a great sense of entertainment!
Trevor Roberts said Billy was the best Jujitsu instructor he ever training with. He said he was amazing.
I think there was a great deal of mutual respect between them!
True JuJitsu
What's the difference between this and aikido or aikijujitsu or tenshin aikido?
300 pounds vs 100 pounds is not fair at all... He must show this using another guy similar to his weight.
