Abandoned Rail in Alaska slowly disappearing

Abandoned Alaskan railway in south central Alaska fall 2024. The end of the salmon run with small pools of trapped salmon and eagles happily feasting on the dying fish. The beavers have dammed part of the braided river system which has caused accessible railcars in the past to be flooded. #abandoned #alaska #alaskatravel #hiking #wildlife #eagles #salmon #fish #fishing #beavers #alaskansalmon #...
Excellent choice of background on the table. I often struggle with that do to limited room and options.. As to the jacket- I only own one Arktis item- Its their storable flecktarn Windbreaker. Its survived me using it over the years ..I do like Arktis clothing. Or at least I've never had any issues with them over the vastness of my wilderness/survival years......
I have quite a few arktis items and have really been liking them. This mammoth shirt is awesome, I actually bought one in fleck for my dad.
@@Haamu_ak Do you have any connections to Finland? Wondering because haamu = ghost in finnish. And also as being a finn makes me wonder.
@mattimatkalainen I don't have any direct ties to Finland but I greatly respect the Finnish culture.
No place like AK..
@Ivarr.Bergmann.Alaska no there isnt!
I’m looking forward to preordering one in M05. I like the modularity allowed by the molle and the pockets for an axe and saw. Looks like a great product, and again, the M05 is a big selling point for me.
@@Mondlicht333 thank you! M05 is definitely one of the best woodland patterns out there!
Keep on keeping on
How much?
I absolutely agree!
lumber packs is a great idea. Ideal for going through densely forested areas. I wish I had one of these when I spent a lot of time in tropical rainforests when lianas or whatever get caught between the back of your head and your pack as you try to weave your way through the forest.
These look really cool, and m05 is well represented 👀 hoping I can grab one at some point. I don’t have experience with lumbar packs/bags so will definitely be interesting.
@@FinnishGear thank you! Lumbar packs are in a league of their own and are fantastic
Do you carry this bag in M-81 woodland??? Thanks! Very interested in this setup!
@StevenRoberts-m8v yes M81 will be an option!
looks awesome in nemesis, would love to know how much and shipping to the uk. great work buddy
I'll be shipping international pricing will vary depending on the model and pattern but will be between $325 and $400usd
I’ve got the stalker one with the internal pockets. These new generations without them would be significantly better. These new ones are where it’s at. Love to see it. Honestly after seeing how you’ve got yours set up, I’ve got some ideas on how to make mine better. Thank you for the breakdown! Those straps are rad. I think I might have to snag some to try and use this as a plus up with my LFR

Thanks man!

appreciate the close ups...this looks like something I could use. I'm nearing 69 years old and humping a back pack is just getting too much. have you settled on a price yet?
Thank you! Pricing will vary depending on model and pattern chosen but will be between 325 and 400usd
DUDE.. mine carries like a dream.. it is worth every bit of what I paid.
@kaneferguson965 thank you for the kind words!
Keep up the good content

Nice, roughly whereabouts in Alaska are you?

How does it ride on the back?
@PNWBackwoods it rides great, stays tight to the back, doesn't flop around or sway. Keeps your center of gravity low, which is excellent for mountains and thin ridgelines. Great for trail running even.
@Haamu_ak cool thanks for the info
Where can I order one bro? I love this design. Reminds me a bit of the Nixieworks setup but more compact
On my IG I'll be offering preorders in the near future and that's where I'll post updates! This pack is bigger than the nixieworks packs and has more design features. Large difference is that this pack, when adjusted properly and loaded down, will not bounce when running or jumping.
@ Wow, this is perfect man. I live in Northern MN so somewhat similar situation as you. Those were my two main issues with the Nixieworks rig as well, didn’t seem very stable and I wanted something with a capacity that could replace a small pack. If you can get some guys to start talking about this and maybe doing a review it’ll absolutely take off. The market for rigs like this is minuscule, you’ve got the Nixie (nice but kinda awkward and expensive, Smersh and 6sh117 (too expensive nowadays for essentially issue kit), Velocity jungle rig and maybe some old USGI surplus shit, most of those won’t hold much beyond a sleeping bag, mags, Ifak and some small items.
Could you do a close up of the harness and belt? Also cost? Thanks.
@joshuagunderson6593 I greatly appreciate that! And this one is still expensive, but I can promise you it will last and it will be more comfortable and stable than the others on the market.
@@lonewolf77782 absolutely, ill out together a video this weekend and post it
Hows that smock holding up?
@Ivarr.Bergmann.Alaska that smock continues to lose color as you and I identified a few years back. But I found this smock by happenstance worn here which is a KML suit from SSO which is actually correctly printed fabric like the Partizan suit!
@@Haamu_akahhh .... I thought it looked darker but thought it was just lighting..
I can’t wait till you release this.
I want that backpack, but with some modifications. Can it be possible?
What sort of modifications did you have in mind?
@@Haamu_ak Is there a different way we can talk? I do not need to talk about it in a open setting.

That fella coming in a week has one of those smocks too. I could never justify getting one because my German one works well for me, but Ive wanted one regardless... good job on the kit!
Thank you! I love this smock because its so lightweight ans has some features i really like. I was able to score the smock used, and cheap luckily! I actually have a leo kohler one coming in the next few weeks I'm excited to try out.
@@Haamu_ak In flecky or? I sold my LK one. No real reason other then I never used it.. Its a bit over engineered but it didnt bother me very much. It German so I expected that!
@@Bergmann.Alaska It's actually in ATACS FG, I knew it was a rare bird at a fair price and I've always wanted to try some atacs in late fall early spring here
What is that jacket, brother? I love it.
Thank you! That is an Arktis waterproof smock in Belgian Jigsaw camo!
@@Haamu_ak thank you! Love that bag too. I'll be waiting for them to come on the market
Whats your take on those watch caps?
They are alright. The weave is pretty loose and wind rips through it, it also gets super soggy and stretches out a lot when when from perspiration. Still way better than usgi fleece caps
@@Haamu_ak My take exactly .... I have the neck tube too but ended up not using either but went back to the wool watch cap and wool neck tube.. I was a bit disappointed especially for the cost.
I think that this is the most comfortable way to go about backpacking. But if I wanted to use it for international travel can I have it as a personal item or does it need to be checked in ?
Yes, it's still small enough to use as a carry-on or as a personal bag. Definitely the most comfortable way to carry a day pack.
