Ive not recieved a letter but got a text a few days ago giving me about 20 days to claim.. I suffer really bad with mental issues that prevent me from going outside & doing simple day to day stuff. recieve housing benefit and i think its called eesa with a small bonus because of a support group im in (2gether Lets Talk) I had help setting this up years ago as i struggle with phone calls & forms etc Was a lot of stress, letters from my doctor & many more hoops to jump through. I now have no help & live alone & really dont want to switch, can you please help or advise? Im in my 50s & pretty much live in my own bubble.

This is misleading because it relates to DWP benefits paid in addition to your state pension, such as Pension Credit. If you are just receiving State Pension and no other DWP benefits, there shouldn't be any requirement for DWP bank account checks, as the later are designed to protect against fraudulent claims.

I did not see this false information when it was aired, and, as a pensioner myself, would certainly have checked it out before panicking, but people who are totally reliant on their state pension must have been very worried. What on earth were the perpetrators trying to gain? Targetting the old and vulnerable is despicable beyond belief.

Could you please explain another video that is circulating on social media stating that the government will be delving into our bank accounts without our permission to see what we are spending our money on.
