Thanks Liam, I think we are on the same track, I just wanted to think about this passage: although the rich man tried, he was not as blameless as he thought himself - he may have kept most commandments externally, but not in the sense of internal attitudes and motives. Neither could he submit to the Saviour, as his idol was his wealth. None of us can keep these commandments, they hold up a mirror for us and convict us of our sinful nature. *Only God is good*. We cannot be saved by good works, we cannot 'earn' eternal life, it is a sovereign gift of God. This doesn't mean we shouldn't 'do good', but good works are the fruit of our salvation, not the root. Addit: I would interpret "Jesus looked at him and loved him" as Jesus felt great compassion for him.

I pray that liberal , labour and greens are voted out, lets hope enough people are aware enough to do this. The last 2 years should be impetus enough, tyranny worthy of the worst kind of dictatorship.May the good Lord wake people up!
