I love how Jazmine doesn't need anything else on the stage with her, other than her mic, her BGS and her band and kills it every f*cking time. She performs like the flat foot singers that sing and perform so freaking good that they don't need anything else but them and their band!!!!! Jasmine is a true treasure that we need ❤❤

It’s the audio that’s messed up. It’s not properly synchronized with the video, that’s why it looks a bit off.

My fave thing about "If" in general is it was one of Janet's songs that wasn't ever done on late night shows or talk shows for promotion because you'd have to tame it down and with the choreo, music all together it needs that awards show or tour to give it the level of integrity and space to do that.
And that's one of the things that I hated, is that it never got a promo run except for the VMA performance, which I really don't even count. The song peaked at #4 on the Hot 100 from just radio play and the video, but if she had performed it on the typical promo circuits, then it totally would have went to number one. Tina could have reworked the choreo if it was too suggestive for TV, that wouldn't have been a problem. "If" def should have had standalone live performances, especially with the band backing the song.
Now that's one hell of an observation. Bravo 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾

Janet truly embodied this dance break. Whenever I look at her background dancers do the dance break from 1993 to now they look like they’re struggling to keep up, it just looks like it comes so naturally to Jan. Great video, I’ve been waiting for someone to make this video! My favorite dance break ever.
