1:22:57 Larry:good night
Charles Barkley is a good person
That was great that was a great sit-down talk that was awesome
😮
My son was born in 03. He idolized you Larry bird. But he played like you he was physically he was tough but he'll never be a Larry Bird
Just like you magic there'll never be another magic and they'll never be another Larry Bird amen and thank you for being a gentleman
They needed each other. You always need a rivalry. But what I'm saying is if the NBA still ain't paying them boys something's wrong... Sorry gentlemen
Nice to see gentlemen being gentlemen
There's nothing like being respectful to each other. Bird just does not know how to accept it. He doesn't even want to be on that stage.... Mister magic Johnson is good at it
That's what I like everybody be nice and respectful
They changed the game of basketball they really did
Nothing like teammates being teammates. You know what year was we knew what team we were. It's so awesome... I miss them days
32 minutes in..lol
27 minutes in...wow
Nothing like having a teammate
He's a legend. You're these kids will never know
No mama bird there be no Larry Bird she deserved that long Clapton I'm not good at talking but she deserved all that
This maybe 8 years too late and nobody will read this, but there all this talk about the G.O.A.T but there only one legend
My wife and I had the honor of being there
GREAT NIGHT TO THANK LARRY BIRD...; THE BEST BASKETBALL PLAYER IN UNIVERSE HISTORY.
I’m a diehard Boston girl and I never saw Magic’s mixtape before! Their 1984 NBA final was my senior year in high school and I remember watching those games in amazement . Magic is straight out of Rucker Park! Thank you for taking me on this journey with you. Can’t wait for the rest of Courtship of Rivals! 🍀❤️😊
The Legend!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Everyone who calls Yawkey a racists should listen to some of his players, black players. Not the ones who despise him over contracts and trades but the ones who knew him as a person. He loved all his players.
Larry Legend
I used to be obsessed with political ads as a kid and I would try to tape them, this one aired the day before the election.
I liked Joe McHugh more than Capetta because McHugh began each announcement with "Ahhh ladies and gentlemen......"
Jordan was not a ball hog, he had ability. But he is not Larry Bird.
And don’t forget to thank the Clippers who suckered Red into giving up Joe Barry Carroll for only Robert Parrish and Kevin McHale.
Definitely never ever be another Larry Bird!!!
I cried my eyes out during Magic's segment. "There will NEVER, EVER be...another Larry Bird!" "To the greatest basketball player ever, but more important...a friend forever!" Just a punch to the gut, man!
All I remember is when Larry polity invited magic johnside inside for some lunch.. “My mother prepared some lunch, let’s go inside!”
Who would have ever thought a laker .. any laker would get the ovation Magic got inside the Boston garden... Larry and Irvin two most unlikely guys end up being the best thing to ever happen to each other... ive never been lucky enough to have a friend like these two are for each other...close once .. im 57 years old now and have never known what having that kind of a friend is like... much love and respect to both of these guys...
Im not a basketball fan... but i temember being a 13 year old kid and watching the celtics and lakers dominate the 80s... i lived in portland at the time the blazers won one.. Larry was something different even i knew that at 13.. used to enjoy watching him play.. i saw MJ's whole career.. he is definetly high on my list of the best... which goes like this... no.3 MJ. No.2 The Worm No.1 Bird Larry Joe... hands down the goat
Looking for Andrew Dargan
I saw my 14 year old self 😊
Manic is a class act and the bond between them will live well after they are gone
The true GOAT.
I grew up a magic Johnson fan and my brother John was a Larry Bird fan how ironic
You know your special when you're Mom gets a standing ovation
And I enjoyed Larry brid...
I listing to the radio in Hoonah Alaska on Archie Ball 🏀
Cuz he won 3 purple hearts
As much as I loved and respected Larry Bird, his one character flaw has never acknowledged his daughter Corrie, whom he had from a short-lived previous marriage. It's sad that from interviews, she had longed for a father/daughter relationship. But Bird always resisted out of stubborn pride.
The fact that it’s still like this 20 years later
There's no true GOAT in the NBA. Too many great players in different eras. Larry played in the 80s. Era of the Superstars: Magic, Kareem, Michael, Nique, Dream, Zeke, Glove, Chambers, Kemp, Clyde, Mullins, Patrick, Dr J, Moses, Charles, Admiral, Stockton, Mailman, etc. Larry beat em' all. 3 rings, 3 consecutive MVPs, Athlete of the Year and King of the 40/50/90 club. Most Clutch player ever. LEGEND!!!!🏀
I worry that there may be some Bird stories that are untold.
I think Jerry Allen died from that.
