Can you take offline coaching for solidwork
30 years of innovation and solidworks runs like crap on my work pc with 1070ti, how in the world did they run this in the 90s?
I agree, I still use SolidWorks 2021 on my PC with 970 and I rarely encounter problems. Do you receive Graphical Card notifications within SolidWorks Resource Monitor? Usually SolidWorks requires RAM and that's the bottle neck, not the VRAM of the GPU (if you are not rendering or applying shaders elements within the viewport). Could you share expert user or admin user catia settings ? It may be useful for many people. I have worked on many cad models which includes all details as parameters in geometrical set. But I didnt succeed to do it by myself.

Why is it called split. It should be called trim
The naming in CATIA V5 is weird. I agree that this mostly trims.

No, this was done with the default factory settings for the laptop.
@@3DComparison All good, I thought this was Cinebench 2024...and that was GPU at 29k haha - I'm getting similar settings, but I did undervolt and now getting a little higher numbers ... waiting for it to finish

I haven't noticed that they remove it WRL file import in Blender 4.2. Guess they considered that it's a legacy file format and is no longer used/needed. Thanks for the comment, this is an interesting find!

Dude, why so complicated. Just install GS and add the lib folder to "Path" - DONE! No need to extract, combine bin+lib, create c:\gs and the gs sys env variable, semicolon divider, nvidia line (wtf?) etc. etc.

Yes, using surfaces makes it lighter overall, but for various applications it is easier to work with solid bodies. You can always generate the surfaces starting from solid bodies using the multiple extract feature.

I want to ask you a question about catia. Question 1: Does having only a solid model of a standard part, such as a bolt, or having all the features under the model make the catia file lighter? Which one is useful for large assemblies? 2. Question: Is it lighter and more performant if the same standard part, such as a bolt, is a solid model or just a surface model?
Hello, that is a very good question. I have decided to give this a try and see what files are lighter and offer better performance. I have addressed this within my recent video - ruclips.net/video/_v1K565lyOk/видео.html. I have also compared CATIA V5 to SolidWorks in terms of STEP file usage and CATIA has the stronger lead regarding this.

Glad to hear! I also prefer to use SolidWorks for these type of tracing operations compared to CATIA V5 or Fusion 360. You can also use vectors to automate this.

The majority of companies are still using CATIA V5 in various countries in Europe. I am curios where are you from, since 3D Experience hasn't been adopted yet by all companies around the world for various reasons.

Hello, I use this laptop for Blender and UE5 and I haven't encounter any major problems with it so far. I haven't render in cycles a lot, but UE5 works great!

Hello, Thanks for the comment. I also prefer to use CATIA as this is the CAD solution that I learned during my studies, but Fusion 360 offers better workflows in some cases. CATIA V5 is still far superior when dealing with Surface Design. I would suggest that it is good to learn multiple CAD solutions and Fusion is quite a good solution option as it is available for free to hobbyist.

Hello, then it is most likely that the 3D model does not have a UV unwrapping done, you can use define those in Blender. You will select the facets that you want to unwrap, press U and select either Unwrap or Smart UV project. I will make a video regarding this within the following days!
I downloaded the files and cannot get the OBJ to import with the texture. I am using SW 2022, can you advise what steps I need to take to be sure I am getting SW to correctly reference the MTL file and pull in the textures? Thanks.
Hello, if SW 2022 is not importing them default, maybe the files that you are downloading don't have the MTL file reference done. You can try to load them in Blender, reapply the texture (to make the link within the MTL file) and export the OBJ then reopen the OBJ file in SW.
