How can I get this app? I use X-Plane 12 and can’t find this tool anywhere
I think PMDG perhaps included it in the MS FLIGHT SIM PACKAGE.. Or you get this from your company
captain when doing LNAV/VNAV approach when do you enter the missed approach altitude in the MCP ?? is it that you need to be at least 300ft below the missed approach altitude because sometimes I'm leveling off when I'm entering the missed approach altitude let me know please thanks
After passing the FAF. at least 300 hundred feet below missed app altitude. The airplane enters on approach logic 2 miles before the faf.

captain I had a question why do we have to dial down the altitude every time since we are following VNAV PTH which means that the decent will be calculated automatically so even if keep changing our altitude it will still follow VNAV right so what is the point of doing that let me know please thank you
Hi :). You set the altitude for the given atc clearance. If cleared lower then the next altitude constraint, tou set it for the next constraint. Although the path is calculated all the way down, setting the constraints\clearnce limit, guards you from violating altitude constraints.

Thought Boeing used the gun sight instead of the flight director command bars? May you can switch between the two?
Each company can choose its configuration. I'm used to this one :)
As the 150% calculation is automatically considered by the OPT, flight crew need to put only the reported wind.
Hi. It depends what is your company's policy. In real time you can switch to actual conditions.

Very Nice! RNP is amazing.. I did an RNP into ABQ at night with a 30 knot Xwind on base leg and RNP nailed it.
Thanks :) It is a great tool in the arsenal, but you have to he aware of GPS jamming in real life flying.
hello, I am getting confused in pilot flying and monitoring roles. preflight procedures are always carried based on cpt/fo position, then how does it look regarding all other procedures?
Hi. Once starting to taxi, to roles change from Cap\Fo to flying\monitoring, that until parking brake is set back at the gate, and the roles change back prior to engine shutdown

How can I see LDAs for each exit point on the runway?
In the AMM mode, press on the runway number, then select it as active runway. It will be coloured green. Then press the landing distance on the bottom right of the screen

Hi sir, could you upload the full version of take off and approach briefing video? and for the TOC of descent calculation from the video, u state that 30,000 ft x 3 = so we get 90nm + 10nm for reducing speed and from the FMC progress the distance to E/D is 118nm so we are left with 18nm but from the video u stated that we are left with 8nm so where is the other 10nm gone to? Thank you capt

Thanks. There is a procedure for that. 99% just make sure the external power is plugged and do the preliminary. If not, and the aircraft is cold, switch BAT to ON, do the fire test as in preflight, turn on the apu, set the aircraft to power from the APU and continue to the Preliminary+preflight

Very good series, enjoying the details and clear explanations! At some airlines, is setting the engine start switches to CONT for takeoff and landing optional?
In my company the start switches have an AUTO option, so it does that automatically for TO, landing, and Anti Ice.

Whenever I see vertical speed going anywhere above 1800 feet per minute, I wonder how it translates into passenger (dis)comfort. Any idea of how bad 2000+ feet would feel like?

Did you choose an Rnav approach and activated the route? Perhaps something is missing in your fmc preparation. You can check the fmc preflighting video

No you don't. But usually it will be part of your flight plan, or you will be assigned one by ATC

The OPT is a licensed app. Some one has to pay fonthe license. When it will be simulated in the pmdg extension you will be able to use it from within the simulator

well real world you do not bug the speed.
Well that probably depends upon your company policy and FCTM/FCOM. In my real world, you open the speed intervention just before reaching the FAF when performing n LNAV/VNAV approach :)
