Full time RVing. You don’t have to be retired, independently wealthy, a blogging/ vlogging/ social media guru, or live so minimally you can’t take a shower every day. What can you do right now to live your dream every day?
Hi! We’re Ben and Lauren. We have been full time RVing for the past five years. We would like to share with you how we sustain our life on the road. Our New Heartland Diesel 5th Wheel - No Propane !!!!
We converted another 5th wheel to diesel. Zero propane onboard again. We did this on our last 5th wheel that was totaled and we are doing it again. We liked the system so much we did not want propane.

The First Thing You Do AFTER BUYING AN RV
Просмотров 473 месяца назад
We just bought an RV unexpectedly after our fifth wheel was totaled. One thing we have noticed over the years (being in and around the RV industry) is that the showers are not often sealed very well. We decided the first preventative maintenance project for the RV while we are moving in should be sealing the shower to prevent possible leaks and damage to the RV.

Borgeson Steering Shaft - Impressive Results
was really worried going into this job because my mishimoto intercooler elbow by the lower radiator fitting was a headache to snap on. So there is no way that thing was coming off. Thankfully I was able to spin the elbow to the passenger side which gave me enough room to work with the fitting. I tackled that lower hose first, and then did the other two. Thank goodness it wasn’t as bad as I anticipated. The original fitting on the radiator is a 32mm socket. for anyone with deep sockets it makes removing them alot easier. The Fleece fittings I believe were 24mm. Made it way easier to tighten onto the radiator in the cramped space. Just be careful not to OVERTIGHTEN! Doesn’t take much to tighten them be careful!
Did you guys use standard life proof natallation instructions when installing in your motorhome? I.e. 1/4” gap and no glue or nails? We are getting ready to do ours
Yes we did. We had a 1/4 gap that we covered with a base board and we did not glue anything down.
I would like you to try to compare to the meguiars one step and give your opinion.
We have been using the Meguiar's 1 step for the past year. It works great on a clean surface it you are just doing upkeep. We would have to wait until the spring or summer to do a comparison when the weather is warmer.
really great video, they should use this for their official video !
Thank you!
Get the wolf eng column bearing I promise u will not be disappointed!! I just ordered my borgenson steering shaft and I’ve previously installed the wolf bearing and psc steering gear box super impressed with the results compared to before but there is still that little bit of play I’m trying to eliminate
Yes, we will look into getting that bearing. We are still experiencing a little bit of play on a slight left turn.
Straightforward, easy to follow, great information. Perfect install review. Wallas needs this on their website for a “how to”. On another note, kinda makes you wonder if they don’t want the fuel line near the heated elements why is the pump valve facing that way. Makes you wonder. Cheers.
Thank you! Yes, we have had the fuel line melt in the past.
Can this be power with one of the Honda, Generac, Predator generators?
Not directly, you would have to convert the power to 12 volts first through a converter. ruclips.net/video/H7Thh-bgrTM/видео.html
I was looking for what are the eye hooks for? My HF chocks have screwed in eye bolts
I'm from Russia. I'm building a travel module. I'm trying to choose a stove. There is practically no camping in our country and it will not be possible to find external electricity. 99% travel with a gas stove. Diesel stoves are not sold here at all. I wanted to put induction + battery at 500-600 a/h. But the size and required power of the inverter is a little frustrating and bsm is needed for high currents. I want 2 comfort plates + a microwave. This is more than 250A + wires with a finger))). And if you add an air conditioner and a washing machine.....So I'm studying a diesel stove.
Also - to reduce splatter - google ridge monkey pans
Always run Wallas kit with lithium batteries ! Why ? Glow plug power consumption is about 9A during startup. If the power drops below 12.0V the unit goes into failsafe. Not a problem with lithium. Man thats a hard way to clean! Instead use Mr Muscle green glass cleaner a silver pan scourer and wipe off with a paper kitchen towel. The glass is toughened and it will be fine (my XC Duo is after several years of abuse)
I have a Aims 24 volt 2000 watt and a Aims 2500 12 Volt. Inverter/ Charger They will power the Gates of Hell 😂. They just keep on putting power out. Great product
Stayed at MISSOURI HEADWATERS STATE PARK. It was great. We rode our bicycles all over the park. Check out Sacajawea Hotel in Three Forks, it's so cool. They say it's haunted.
Best thing I ever did was buy a quality 12v compressor fridge ... I live in my van in the UK and even this far north with our shite climate , my solar runs the fridge/freezer for 4-5 months , in winter , it draws 4Ah when its running so its no biggy with a dc to dc charger and 300Ah of lifepo on tap . As for noise , its a behind 1/8" ply from my head when in bed .
Good info!
Great walkthrough!
I have had one in my Class C for 5 years using a 200 amp lipo. It will handle 30 amps passthru. We had the AC connector strip burn up starting at the factory side. I just had to bypass the strip.
Thank you for heads up I will keep an eye on that.
We're having problems with our Sterling BB1260. I'm wondering which generation we have. Do you have any information about which colour labels identify the different generations?
On the new one we have, the label is green. The first generation we owed had a red label. We do not know if there were any other colored labels.
I seem to be having the same problem with mine right now and have already diagnosed it to be the board. Do you have a price for what it cost you to order that board?
Sorry, we don't remember exactly. It was roughly $200 we think.
@@rohdsteading5880 thank you, I have already ordered it and paid around $170.
It would help to quantify mileage as well as age (both DOT stamp & hownlong they were mounted) when reviewing ST tires.
On the date stamp, they were just about a year old when we purchased them. As far as miles, it was about 6,000 miles. Sorry I did not capture the deformities in the side wall of the tire but the side wall had me worried and that is why we replaced them.

Thank you for the glowing review! This is very helpful for us and future customers. Always a pleasure working on your truck.
Mine is a AC/DC Brand the Gentalmen that designed and built mine is from China but Lives in Tucson AZ and the remote that your showing on video looks the same as mine but the air handler and outside unit is not designed the same Mine looks much more designed Better and heavier duty then what your showing and so far mine Works Great.O and mine is on A Large Car. That's a Semi Truck for all of U rv people o plus don't park at a truck stop we need the spaces and don't fuel at Truck stops the sit there pull foward so a Semi Truck can Fuel ... thanks
I'm here in Phoenix can your provide me the contact info pls
do you have the length of each hose?
We do not.
Interesting. What are the dimensions of the interior unit?
Unfortunately, that RV was totaled and we cannot take measurements for you. We don't know what they were. I'm sorry.
Does the aims or the progressive have an isolated ground? I’m charging off my EV 120a charger and there is no true ground so I need to ground the charger on the frame. Can either of these do that?
You can ground it to the frame but I do not know if that will be a true ground that your EV will recognize.
Did it kept it cooler and by how much.
Yes it did but lets keep it in perspective, the old cooler was quite worn out. Previously the temperature was running around 200 and now it is running at about 180 under normal towing conditions.
Does it work in the rain?
Yes
Question is: why did it fail in the first place. Looks like it almost caught fire.
It wasn't the Hughes Autoformer, it was the neutral connection on the plug that was plugged into the Hughes Autoformer that failed and burned the neutral connection on the Autoformer, damaging the plug inside.
@@rohdsteading5880 I don't disagree, but if that's a common problem with the TT-30 plug, then Hughes should design their unit with a temp sensor in the recep to interrupt before it melts. EV charging equipment has similar protection.
I have been working to convince them to build my ALL IN ONE model that vertically mounts into a 8 x 10 cut out. Still working on it, China is Fkn clueless to how the rest of the world sees this vertical mount, no gasses or tools needed, best option of DC air Conditioners.
Can you run the ac while driving down the road?
We never saw it in writing but we have been running it while driving down the road.
It's a AC unit that runs on... DC... the irony is not lost 😅 so it basically has a electric compressor. Is it worth the money or is it kinda weak. Cause you can just run the vehicles ac and do pretty much the same thing
Did this cooler drop your temps any I just purchased one for my LBZ.
Yes it did. It runs about 20 degrees cooler on average.
yes, maintenance is the biggest issue with these devices. Mine has begun doing this same thing as you guys, just not as bad. However, sending it in is not an option for me. I cannot understand how companies like this, that build products for people that are sometimes thousands of miles away from any service center do not build accordingly, for DYI maintenance and installation. It is unprofessional.
Hi, i just have the same problem (in my case a Webasto X100 but it seems globally the same product) if you solved the problem by yourself could you please describe what was it and what did you do to solve it ? i would like to fix this by myself(a webasto repairer is not easy to find around Paris...). Thanks.
Those tires are made in China! Look on the bead that seats on the rim, it will be marked chine in several places on the bead! I had a set on a horse trailer and had two blowouts on I 65 in Indiana! Wouldn’t own another one of those junk tires!
Do you got this one?? ruclips.net/user/shortsCd1oIhiEZAQ?si=bhrwjttSN5lujyBu
This video will explode
I use Howes fuel additive for my 06 dodge 2500. Had no issues with the engine. The best is hybrid, we have 400 watts on the roof , 200 watts on the ground if needed, and a renogy 40 amp dc to dc charger. We only have 300ah of lithium. We get by fine most of the time cause on average we use about 85ah a day. Our biggest draw is our fridge when driving uses like 340 watts constantly. When we get to a boon docking site we put the fridge on propane. Nice vid u2. 👍🏻🇺🇸
Excellent video.
Dude
Wallas should’ve replaced the entire unit with a new replacement for the prices they charge and inconvenience to you. These things are vastly overpriced.
Running it for an hour and a half and only having it 6 degrees cooler is trash
Efficiency is more important. Also, it depends on the size and your insulation. If you install some "heat recuperating" ventilation instead of fans, you can have both the efficiency and the coolness (or hotness).
Also, if this is 12v, then 24v variant is likely stronger.
Thank you for this video. God bless brother !!
How long does it take to cool down?
It takes at least an hour to cool down.
Thanks for sharing this video! I would like to know if the refrigerant hoses connect to the inside unit directly behind the unit straight through a hole in the wall, thus the hole is covered by the inside unit. Or do the hoses come out the bottom or side and have to be exposed inside before running outside? I need to know because the location I want to install the inside unit has no clearance below it or to the sides. The hoses must run directly out behind it.
Yes, the hoses are exposed and come out the bottom of the interior unit. We were able to trim around it and hide it somewhat.
I've been using one with multiple vents for 2 weeks now, cools great under heatwave, 35-40C outside, 25-27C inside, 30A-50AM draw. However, after running for 6-10 hours sometimes it starts to blow warm air and no longer cools... E05 error popped out and the compressor was 70C hot, reached out to Treeligo on Aliexpress and they suggested multiple reasons. Refrigirant was all good, 10 bar on high and 3 bar on low... Seems like malfunction with compressor electronics unfortunately. After some restarts it works again.
Thanks for the info! Is the unit still working good 8 months later?
It is still working a year later. We did have to add some refrigerant, we are not sure where is was leaking from. And the interior fan did start to make some noise but it has still been functioning.
Your video helped a lot thank you! I changed the lines and upgraded the cooler.
Glad it helped!
I just reached out to Treeligo because my wiring is too hot to touch today. I don’t know if this has been ongoing, but it is the first time I’ve smelled that melted plastic aroma coming out of the electrical closet
