My adventures in artistic wandering fueled by asking “What if?”
It all began with recording collagraph printmaking and grew into a need to try everything to see what happens.
Many projects going and each is allowed to “simmer” a bit before being completed so there’s a constant rotation of projects being posted. All done for the love of creating... Hope you enjoy as gain some ideas along the way!

Newest Sketchbook Tour - Collagraph Covers, Single Page Coptic Stitch Binding
Kids are cleaning house for Mother’s Day so kicked back for a moment to film a an overdue tour of the latest collagraph cover sketchbook. Combo of two of my fave art processes… collagraph printmaking and bookbinding.
Intaglio collagraph prints and a mix of heavy rag drawing and mixed media paper sewn with single-page coptic binding. 12 needles at one time was an adventure to keep track of. 😂 Needing to let go of the idea that it’s “precious” and begin to use it 😄

Sewing a section of the half-hitch millipede stitch. 😄 Will make a tutorial when I have time, but the idea is just to wrap the sections with half hitches before going into the next section of holes. I like this stitch better than the centipede version where threads are just wrapped because the knots seem to make it more sturdy. Quick photoshoot and video tour of a new sketchbook. Covers are made from old transparency of a doodle I found while cleaning out art storage. Magnolia Leaf cover book done! Leaves have held their color nicely over the past few months. Will be using this idea again! Yay! Took a while to figure out how to latch it. The journey of my sister’s art journal book covers! Out of a very thick back to a canvas pad I’d saved for a few years - never toss these out!!! 4 holes work much better than 6 and each signature needs more pages to show off the “X.” In the hopes of having lots of sewing practice by limiting pages in the signatures, but didn’t consider it would hide that “X.” Will be attempting again!
