Late 70s, my dad swapped a "junkyard" 350 into the 66 Chevy Truck he drove daily. Even with just one Thrush muffler, it sounded pretty damn sweet. I still remember that rumblin sound and how good it sounded when he was going thru the gears (3 on the tree) Great childhood memory. Likely part of what led me to be the gearhead I am now. Thanks for posting.

Not the best way, out the passenger is simpler and less messy, just did one. I would of prepped more, no reason to have made that kind of mess, just saying.
You did a 440 engine change though the door of a freshly painted Dodge-Bvan bravo to you but I’m not going to do my builds that way

What exhaust setup do you have sounds good
It’s factory mid muffler off a 6.4 scatpack single oestyle exhaust for the slant for the rest

What rear gear are you running? I’m switching from the NP431 4speed to A833OD. Going from the 3.23(?) to 3.90. 225 6 also.
This truck has a 2:90 gears it came factory with 195/75/15 tire I have a black miser that came 3:23 gears and they put 205/75/15 on it

Great truck. My father gave me his 84’ Prospector when I graduated. Two tone red on white with the slant six. Great engine, couldn’t kill it. Miss that ol’ Dodge.

The 2 barrel 225 was an option on the slant six trucks through the 1983 model year. My 1982 D150 Custon is an original 2 barrel. Has a W in the VIN. The option was dropped for cars much earlier, maybe 1980. You have the factory paperwork showing that yours was originally a one barrel. Noticed your truck has a V8 radiator in it. The slant radiator would have inlet and outlet on the same side. It works. Couldn't really see it too well, but if the engine is a black paint engine, then it's an '84 to '87 Toluca, Mexico engine. Up through '83 was blue. Mine has a black paint engine also, probably a warranty replacement? No VIN stamped on the block VIN pad. Beautiful D150, inside and out! 8 times nicer than mine. 19 mpg is the best I ever got with mine on one of its few highway trips. 14-16 in local driving with the 4 speed OD.
The radiator was the only one I could find at time when I replaced it thanks for watching

Manual valve body and the transmission has some good stuff in it . I know what I’m going to put one through so if I have the money when putting together I’ll do good as I can
