I love this tune by Willie Nelson...the strings, horns, etc, that you hear were played on the keyboard. Ed was fabulous on that classical acoustic guitar!

I put this together using some pretty old dilapidated photos for my mom on Mother's Day. That is her singing a nice Loretta Lynn song. Sounds nice. Some of my friends & I played the music for her.

I have always loved this tune by Booker T & the MGs!! My brother-in-law (Reggie), my sister (Patty), and my friend from the California Creedence Band (Ed), were kind enough to help me finally do a video of it. They all did a fine job on it.

I did this video with my talented sister (Patty) on bass and talented brother-in-law (Reggie) on keyboard. My talented and good friend (Ed Fitzgerald) was kind enough to play the background guitar part for us. We did this during Corona Virus Shelter-in-Place.

Nobody sang a ballad better than LJD. R I P Big Feller.
His songs are funny ate they meant to be?
@@RacBeat girl76 Yeah... A lot of Jimmy Dickens songs are meant to be funny... He did a lot of Novelty tunes. In the early to mid Fifties, he also had a really cool "boogie beat" to his music that was about as Rock N Roll as it gets... Back at the time, his band was INCREDIBLE.. If you get the gumption, check out "Salty Boogie" and "Rockin' with Red". He also released quite a few "weepers", too... Listen to "We Could, You and I", "Take Me As I Am" and "Farewell Party" if you get the chance. Back then, he was about as big of a Star as they come.... And he really was a nice guy. I lived in Nashville in the late Nineties and early 2000s, and had the pleasure of knowing him and his wife. From the minute I met him, he treated me like I was a relative. Cheers...
I meant ain't
@@slicksnewonenow oh ok I don't know much about him. So uh thank you slick for schooling me on dat.
Great slide guitar and vocals, Jimmy!"
Amazing band!I ♡ Lucy Brown♡
Jimmy was very talented, and could sing many C& W songs well.
Never forget in the 90s went to Grand Old Opry with a friend who was a big country fan. Will admit not really a country fan but went anyhow. I can't tell you about anyone else who preformed except Little Jimmie. Here come this short little man, guitar big as him with rhinestones. The next thing all these grandmas running to the stage like teenagers. I was like who is this! I was looking for the granny panties to be toss on stage. Never seen nothing like this before. That's been close to 30 years ago and still recall this
So honored by my roots but so lost for sooooo long!!!!! My daddy always spoke of you often. The love & roots run deep
I think people forget with all the funny songs, that Little Jimmy was truly just a great GREAT SINGER!

I was 16 years old when I first heard that song. I remember, I was at my grandparents house and I was sick with a cold or a cough something like that. I was sitting in the chair slumped over. She asked me if I felt bad which I did and it's someone's playing. My grandfather and grandmother were both alcoholics. They had some good points about that. That's when I got my first hot toddy
I am NOT FANS OF THIS MAN BUT HE SING GOOD TOO. I LIKE THIS KIND OF SONG.
