This is a review of a pump that I have been using a lot over the past 2 months. There are similar products out there but this is the only one, that is this size, and has a pressure gauge. The Fumpa Pump with the gauge is quite a bit bigger than this one. These are the best roads to cycle in South Korea

I head out east to a town called Sokcho to ride some of the best roads. I should've mentioned, the train I took leaves from Yongsan Station in Seoul. If you want to do something similar to what I did, I recommend basing yourself in a town called Inje instead. It would be quite a bit closer to the mountains. 🌐 FIND DAILY STORIES FROM WHERE EVER I’M CURRENTLY RIDING ON MY INSTAGRAM @johnny_z_lee ...

    The riverside bike path to me is the most dangerous place to ride. I crashed once and almost crashed many times. The reason is that those places are full of unexpected moves by family with kids, wandering oldies, chatting while riding side by side and rushing novices.

    • @JohnnyZeeLee
      @JohnnyZeeLee 12 часов назад

      Agreed. The most dangerous part about the bike path is people thinking there are no dangers on the bike path. FWIW, Korea has much better etiquette on their paths.

    10 years working in Taipei and riding there. So many unbelievable rides just from your door step. I lived at the bottom of bishan temple, so that climb wad my warm up. A good one at average 10% for 3.6km. Then usually ride over to wanli from there and then back around from danshui, sometimes back up no.2 to lenshuikeng and back to tianmu. Love riding up there. Other nice ride is to pixie. So many gorgeous climbs that way too.

    Riverside during the weekdays or early in the morning is consistently faster. The paths get crowded very quickly during the weekend if you start too late, which is when more people prefer to cut through the city. Most cyclists take 北47-1 to avoid the shittest part of Route 9. Lots of shades and almost zero motor vehicles. It connects back to Route 9, but it’s almost all downhill from there so riding with motorcycles is much less annoying.

    I lived in Taipei a few months every year, and I could not agree more than what you said about the drivers. I have lots of drivers passing me within arm length, and this even happened off the bike in night markets where scooters ramped through people within reachable distance at full blast. A taxi driver even impatiently honk at us at the top of Fengguizui where there are hundred of cyclists on a Sunday morning ride. There are tons of discussion post in Chinese within the cycling community about this, and realistically, the roads are not really set up for cyclists. If you could read Chinese, you'll see tons of explanation as to why. I am not here to rant, but Taiwan cannot be one of the world's top cycling destinations regardless of the beautiful roads and mountains, w/two big bike brands or carbon fiber manufacturing. Belgium, Girona, Mallorca, Colombia maybe even Chiangmai is better..

    • @JohnnyZeeLee

    To me what makes china way better than taiwan for cycling is the mopet situation. People ride ebikes there, which are not very fast anyway, and so they´ve built many bike lines all over the place that we cyclists can use too, even in the highways!, it felt totally safe to me cycling in Hangzhou, but it didn´t felt very pleasant in Taipei when i was there.

    Riverside bike paths are, save some exceptions, faster for me. No motor vehicles with maniac drivers, no traffic lights, no intersections. It looks like you started late, so not many roadies on the super hot and sunny riverside. You're relatively new to Taipei riding, so you're making rookie mistakes 😂. No.9, or BeiYi, is a big NO-NO 90% of the time for anyone sensible about their own safety. Search 北宜公路 in RUclips. 106 and 106乙 can have some racers too, specially the former. Another problematic ones are Section 3, Xiwan Rd. in Neihu and Yangde Boulevard in Shilin from the city to the university. Other than those, there's a myriad of small and quiet mountain roads with plenty of shade, something 106乙 doesn't have. There are some crazy steep ones too and/or rough surfaces (this not too common in the big Taipei area). The Silex will work well on those goat roads.

    Never Ride Thailand! " A tourist minivan lost control on a curve in Mae Hong Son, crashing into guardrails and a tree, leaving multiple passengers injured (Sept 2023, ASEANNOW). According to the World Health Organization, at LEAST 20,000 people die on Thailand's high-speed agressive roads every year. It get's worse with narrow roads that have Thai motorcyclist and Vans of Pai-bound tourists from Chiang Mai driving around traffic at top speeds. NEVER bike in Thailand. Never. RUclipsrs like Jonny and others need to stop hyping this dangerous country which doesn't have any sort of culture for safety or common sense. Also!! North Thailand has the most toxic air pollution in the world every year from November to May. Biking during that time is the equivilant of smoking to packs of cigarettes a day* if you are biking because you are absorbing more air. *25 micrograms of PM2.5 per cubic meter of air = 1 cigarettes of PM2.5 particles.
