What is going on?!
In this video we are back out in my own back yard up the WCC Trail. My brother and I had no plans, no set schedule and just wanted to get out and have some fun AND while we were at it I wanted to VLOG our way across the mountain ridges, for science! I kind of liked this approach to making a trail video ...

@@AFGixxeR88 Tbh not really, I hear it drives way better with a tune even stock but they are so light and nimble and fuel efficient stock (ish) that I don't know if I personally would have. If you change tire size when stock then yes or even add extra weight for sure!

its not hard at all. there is no problem running 35's i run 35's with a 6" lift and 12.50 wide rims. but all these tacoma experts in here wanna play like they know something😂 u just gotta know what parts to add and which ones to stay away from quit acting like its a damn secret u just gotta have common sense.

Most people in this space don't want to run a 6 inch lift aka cheating haha just kidding. You can run 37s even 40s with that kind of a lift with very minimal modifications. I have friends who have done it but it's not the look, style or functionality I was looking for. I wanted a big tire and keep the truck as low as possible. I'll prob stuff 35s in there in a year or two.

I got the ARB kit for my Tacoma with the heavy coils in front and on the rear I used ARB Dakar leafs with the extra leaf. On my Chevy Colorado I installed a 6in kit from Rough Country with Fox 2.5 coil-overs. Those Fox coil-overs came with 500lb coils! They rode smooth around town but way too soft for offroad. Fox customer service was of no help so I upgraded the coils to 700# and Koni Raids. On the rear I went to Atlas Spring and got the 5-over Expedition leaf packs. No more lift blocks! Atlas Spring put my truck on the scales and weighed in at 5600lbs empty. Max is 6000lbs. Loaded I think the truck is well over the max but handles great!

I've had good luck with them in the KY/ TN weather, rainy roads, on hills & rock terrain in the past. Also a lighter tire when compared to Nitto trail graps. Its sad to see trails get trashed😒The trails out here in Albuquerque New Mexico are even worse besause a bunch of people dumping there trash literally to save like 8 dollars because thats all it cost at the dump for a truck load. I have been trying to think of a good structured Nonprofit to get it all cleaned up, maybe working with the dumps or the city its self. It sounds really good in my head. My particular truck is built as an "adventure truck" and is outfitted to support my abandoned mine exploring and RUclips filming. It's a diesel SuperDuty with a shell on the back. Folks often comment about the desert striping, but that is inevitable with the places I go. I did build a bunk in back so I can camp on-site. Next, I would like to add an awning since I live in the desert and shade is always welcome. I tend to be quite pragmatic about adding parts to the truck. Gear progressed, RUclips channels created, companies produced innovative products. Some of that will naturally fall by the wayside as popularity reaches a more normal level. I don't criticize folks when they have an all rigged out overland truck, that obviously never goes off road. I think folks are just confused on overlanding, camping, off-roading, rock climbing, and all the other things. The very definition to overland is just travel a long distance over land. Anything else, is extra. Camping is camping, offroading is offroading, ect. I see overlanding the car version of hiking. I just think folks are realizing tents and crazy gear isn't required to overland, nothing is stopping someone exploring remote places for 100-200 miles and then finding a hotel. It's what you make it, who cares what others believe it is. It's your adventure, not theirs.

    • @quicksendtaco
