Elder Flights

This past summer, the TCG Culture & Heritage Department was able to kick off our ‘On The Land Elder Interviews’. We took a number of our Elders, via helicopter, to remote areas in our Territory to facilitate knowledge-sharing. We visited areas that some of our Elders have not accessed in years, thereby documenting their stories and assisting us in grounding previous work done - 1980’s Elder int...

Just mad because they are not making money off of jade so they're using the poor old Indian being abused by the white man card.
Hands out once again other people do the hard work and the indigenous now got their hand out for free money
Always follow the money ...all questions answered
Who the fuck are the Indians to say they leaving a mess go look at your rezs and clean them up first
So sad they all expect money for doing no work you loss the war get a job and earn your money stop expect my tax dollars to be given to you
What a great person!
The supreme court made it clear u dont have the right to veto
B.s
Fine china aswell get all jade bk from China if this is the case smh
100s of moose there but yet didn't even know there was a landing there haha lmao jokes
😂😂this people just want it all to them self haha what a joke.
Great green winer
In support of wrecking the earth so long as it means money... all comes down to money, has nothing to do with the environment or anything else.
Culture Camp... Bullshit WTF
All about money 💰 END OF STORY.......
British Columbia isn't allowing any new jade mines to open in the northwest, and has set a five-year wind-down period for existing operations. A statement from the Ministry of Energy and Mines says officials have been working closely with First Nations to address concerns about the effects of jade mining on sensitive alpine environments in the area near Dease Lake, about 1,750 kilometres northwest of Vancouver. An order under the Environment and Land Use Act was necessary to protect the area from further harm and disturbance.
Except for the fact the Tahltan's have started up their own mining operations to replace the ones them.
the industry here has crashed, Russia, soon, then only West China and Afganistan and only black jade from West China and Russia, all the better for my new discovery in Ontario Canada BC was 70% of the market and AU South seems to have run dry as well as the West USA Peru and Guatemala, NZ says no to sales. I just found black jade over 300 lbs, green and green/red (Kingfisher)
Working with women (most) is far more difficult than the challenging conditions. They’re dramatic, emotional, they lie and will try to get you fired if they don’t get their way. Programs to give them advantages while they get hired equally makes no sense. And don’t tell me that they don’t hire equally either, because the at would suggest the company with the program was sexist to begin with. Right? Acting like they have something to prove, just can’t go to work and do the job without having drama, gossip and meltdowns
Go mine it your self
So you don't want people to make a living get off my land simple as that
Do they own the land yes or no who gives them the to stop them mining
If people own the land then they can mine so again you lot just wanted the cash for your self
Right on I'm impressed of you gals .way to go .keep up the good work .be safe doing it
It’s a joke they think they have been to every corner of the earth it all belongs to them 🖕🏻
how did she die, drugs?
Ol' chief-boy looks like he's about 11% indigenous.
I thought the Indigenious wanted to practice their traditional ways? A snowmobile , a Canada Goose parka and a rifle sure aren't very traditional lol.
I remember visiting grandpa louie in telegraph creek. I never felt so at home. I love this ❤
Absolutely amazing work ✊🏾 thank you for sharing your work, I’m very grateful for our elders for sharing and passing on their knowledge and teachings of the language. From your neighbouring member of the Gitxsan nation, I also take and teach my children the history and knowledge of our people, teaching them how to hunt all species that provide us food for not only our selves but to share and take care of all our elders first.
Lol fly out in a helicopter and demand a cut. How “traditional” is that in their culture?
If they want to" preserve " the land , jade etc I say give them the land with a non-breakable clause preventing them to mine and profit said protected land once they own the land .
They probably got the money for the helicopter from the Red Chris Mine, but ya let’s go after the little guys eh…
These lazy theives once jade goes up in value and everyone else does the hard work now they want there share.. DUCHBAG MOVE .. GET A FKN JOB DIRTY INYANS.. 😂 BWAHHHAHA
Joyful, happy, uplifting to watch
I appreciate how this guy just comes out and says what we all know. When it comes to mining, its not about the environment. The Tahltan just wanna get paid. And I dont blame them.
The government gave the miners permits. The Indian nation doesn’t have the right or authority to close down any mine. They have to deal with the government. If I were there. I would have continued mining while they watch
Absolutely love this!! Your Nation is doing such a great job. My hands go up to all the men and women involved. God bless u all.
What About "Red Chris" Ever heard of it ??? Chief......
Your Permission ????? Do you OWN Canada ?
BS !!! They just wanna make money now... So, they are playing The Thaltan Nation card... Well Chief you got your Wish.... Now you can Mine for Jade... Like your doing now... Yeah Jr... You got Caught... Mining for Jade on the Bunces land that you took back.... 😢 Sad.... And you got Caught using their old equipment they left on 2 mile....
I come from the Mayan people from Central America I was born in Canada 🇨🇦 and I thank everyday that our people and your people you were taking over by the European and brought the gospel Jesus Christ that’s the problem with our people the natives blaming everyone else but them self that why till this days only the native MAYANS are still the greatest warriors Your people need Jesus Christ not false element GODS and I can talk because I am one of you guys I just call a spade ♠️ a spade
Where there's green stone there's gold it's the same flash in the pan
Sounds like a money grab to me sour grapes because the natives didn't get in 1st. They wouldn't give up their cozy digs in the city to live on the land it's pretty obvious the natives want it all for themselves...
Really fantastic video, thanks for sharing! Wonderful to see these stewardship efforts and connection to the land and water.
Fr I'm from the deer management peoples who grew up in our fish management peoples/ medicine peoples land. It never stops 🤯🤯.
Hadih🤓I love the ❄, sne kalyegh 🤲 for sharing and the New Year celebration of the Nis'ga. Was Leyle Adam leading the Nis'ga dancers and drummers?
What about the impact on the environment?
