Bread! I’m impressed.😎

Hi love just watched a couple of your vids! It is tough when life changes and relationships break down. I had this happen and I lost a lot of friends due to various reasons. I found that I just met my new besties (4 years ago) when I least expected it! So crazy. They are the greatest people I’ve ever met and I feel so blessed. My no buy items... books, new clothing, clothing only necessary, no cards/gift wrapping, no hygiene products/make up, yes to one sunscreen , no toys, no kids clothing or shoes, no bedding, no arts and crafts( use what we have )

Still in highschool here (yr ten this year!) my wish to become a teacher and research on it certainly increases respect for the teachers I have right now tenfold

You need to cover your compost so it doesn't dry out too much, plus it encourages the worms. you will also need to turn it occasionally

I had such few pieces of CHristmas decor out this year (since we don't have many flat surfaces) that I actually didn't get to the stage of wanting it all gone right after Christmas (which is how I used to feel). We had planned to get some floating shelves to have somewhere for decor but I'm not really sure if it will feel like clutter now after having the blank wall for so long already. I lov.e that you have space in your bathroom vanity. We have a drain like that in our new apartment - thanks for the reminder to clean it out.

I don’t know why , but as much as I like decorating for Christmas, I always feel better when the decorations are down and packed away for another year. I guess it is just time to move into another season.😊🙏🏻

Yes, I am doing the same! Christmas and New Year is such a hectic time for our family. My twin brother & I had our birthday yesterday, one of our younger brothers has his today, and I am also a teacher preparing for the new school year.

Thank you for sharing the difference between low buy and no buy I've known the difference but I felt like you explaining in more of a mindset manner rather do or don't which was nice 😊. Don't think I could ever do a no buy but I am planning a low buy as I want to be able to save more towards buying a house. My low buy items that I can spend money on work clothes for my new job, period underwear as my other ones are old, new leggings and new shorts and a pair of jeans and a denim jacket. I can buy books but I have to actually read one before I buy as my to read pile is massive. Thanks for sharing and I agree on the not buying books being an evil plot within a plot 😊.

Let’s help Carly stay home with Hunter. As a sole parent (since remarried) and starting my own biz 20 years ago, I know first hand my why for starting my biz and getting out of my comfort zone (which I hated) to make it happen to be home with my kids and the flexibility it gave, so I never missed anything with them.

Love this! My word of the year is "intentional" and I think the low spend philosophy is really all about being super intentional with your money. I saved soooo much money last year by using the library instead of buying books, agree you can't get everything you want to read from them though. Excited to see how your low buy year plays out! ❤️

We are planning to do a low buy year too, however we are away on holiday for most of January so we plan to start in Feb! I am feeling inspired to do our best, our why is to pay down debt. Your shopping list sounds very similar to mine 💛

I love that you do your workouts at home but save the gym money for yourself. And a custom made gift box is always a winner. We are now within walking distance of some shops but I've been very careful not to start buying things that aren't planned. We always do a no (unnecessary) spend January.

36yo, first time mum to a 7month old little boy, I also broke up with a friend when my son was born, I love low tox too, books, walks, coffee dates, going to give my first no spend month a go in Jan! I work from home which is a social job, I have clients, but no true friends that I connect with, I’ve changed and grown over the last 18 months and I’m alone, my little guy is my best mate, of course my partner is great but sometimes you just need a girlie! I’m in NSW north of Sydney

i'm always happy for product recommendations - esp. Aussie ones. I was lucky to make some good friends at Play Group but I know things are different now (we didn't have social media back then). I definitely haven't found my people (now in my 50s) but I'm lucky to be at a stage in my life where I don't mind. I feel lucky to have found so many people online, like yourself, that I can "hang out" with 🙂

When I moved from overseas to NSW I found myself without a single friend or even a single person that I knew. The first friends we made were our neighbours, and that was because they approached us when we moved in. I've managed to make friends at school, both within my faculty and with other groups that have invited me to join them outside of school. I haven't found any deep friendship, though. Nothing compares to the relationship I have with my best friend back home. For onions, try buying a cheap pair of swimming goggles and keeping them in the kitchen! It looks ridiculous but helps a lot!

I can relate to your discussion so much, literally everything you mentioned from books, podcasts, gardening, Journalling , personal development are my passions too and I have very few friends 😢 I’m 43 and my kids are 22 and 19 and I spent so many years working and parenting and suffering from a chronic illness I had no time for friends. Now my children have grown up I’m lonely ( I have hubby and work buddies ) but want some friends too . I’m hoping this is the year I can somehow find some local friends.

Yessss so hard to make friends as a mum, especially if you are a SAHM or work from home and don’t get those office friends. Everyone is at a different stage of life, and it’s hard to find your people that you don’t have to put in effort for. Hopefully you find your people!

Oh I totally hear you with making new friends as a mum. Also recognise that for some of us it is all consuming, and that’s ok too. All babies are so different and some more demanding than others - I’ve got two kids with polar opposite personalities so far. Hopefully you can meet up with some new like minded people soon ❤️ maybe a book club or yoga class?
