I bought it for around 4k plus. I hope you can find a cheaper alternative for it was the only available brand when I needed to replace the battery

that is a good point. the manufacturer must consider accessibility in the future designs of the car.

@@glenng.pajares.Ph.D.D.A.LitCom my best guess is they are treating it as a blackbox, should the car get into a serious crash with damage reaching the dashboard you will still be able to retrieve the recording from that module underneath the passenger seat. no point of a recording if the sd card gets damaged easily
