Dogwood Rockers Amber Lee (Buday/Hetzel)
This was a wonderful little song written by (Buday & Hetzel) back in 1980 I believe. We'd recorded it as Foreshadow back in 1981, (it's on my boxset). Always reminded me of a Monkees song with Davy singing it....but, that's my view. Just one Joe wanted me to sing the other night...I didn't mind at all!

Yes, I was a singer/songwriter way before I was a DJ Mike. And it took me 10 years to make a box set. And plenty of my own tunes are available for free come Fall of 2017...my 60th birthday. And after having a stroke and lucky to be alive....I guessed that I better get this box set done. Taking orders in 4 different ways!!! It all depends on how much of me you can stand....lol. Here's a glimpse....

I didn't write too many rockers in my life, but did some now and then. To The Hilt was a song about playing out. Though we made some money during 1977-1984 it wasn't much. The importance wasn't really the money playing out....it was more important in having fun!

I started out wanting to do a song about Easter (which I'd never heard of there ever being one). But, it was a nice spring morning, and as I was laying in bed, just started picking on the guitar and just was happy with what came out. I dedicate this one to my niece Jackie who loves it. Lyrics were written by a wonderful gal when she was a young lass. I picked this set of lyrics from many she'd written to set to music. I was thinking it came so close to the "Footprints" poem cherishing our Lord. I had to compose a song around the words....and here it is.

It's a shame that those of use that listened to a LOT of rock and roll in the 60s and 70s only knew Raspberries (HORRIBLE name btw) for "Go All the Way' and Eric for "All By Myself" because these were both lame songs. Just since he died I've heard a lot of FAR better songs including "I Wanna Be With You", "Lets Pretend" and this one....RIP Eric
