How to Install a New Windows Server 2012 Active Directory Forest
1- Open the Server Manager from the taskbar.
2 -From the Server Manager Dashboard, select Add roles and features.
This will launch the Roles and Features Wizard allowing for modifications to be performed on the Windows Server 2012 instance.
3- Select Role-based or features-based installation from the Installation Type screen and click Next.
Note: Roles are the major feature sets of the server, such as IIS, and features provide additional functionality for a given role.
4- The current server is selected by default. Click Next to proceed to the Server Roles tab.

1 hour? Soooo long. EaseUS Disk Copy do the same thing in minutes (8 minutes - 256 GB drive)...
the freeware version will no longer do a clone: use something else instead of EaseUS.

So cloned it-now windows won’t load/open at all. Get the error message at startup “Reboot and select proper boot device”; have already tried changed the boot priorities…
If You don`t have "AutoAdminLogon", You have to just add it exactly the same way as "Defaultpassword" shown on this movie. In my 2019 Server works perfectly. Thank You :) 👌

Nice video but backing up and cloning are two different things. One backs up files and folders on your hard drive, meanwhile cloning makes an exact copy/replica of *everything* on your hard drive which includes not only your files and folders but also all your installed software and your operating system. Backing up is just something you do just in case you lose something but cloning copies everything on your system.

Mine keeps saying cannot clone due to error in sector. I scanned my sectors on both source and target drives and my sectors are all good.

Hi, should not be an issue. You might miss only the data that has been written on the bad cluster.

If you clone the C: system drive, wouldn't it set the partition of the new drive to the same size as the original boot drive in which case you can't use the rest of the space on the new drive as C:?

Hi there. I liked the video EXCEPT THE ENDING. YOU DID NOT EXPLAIN HOW YOU WOULD DELETE THE HARD DRIVES AFTER TURNING OFF YOUR COMPUTER, AT ALL! Could you possibly explain the process to remove the older Hard Drive? You literally just SHUT OFF your computer in VM and didn’t explain anything else. Mind being more thorough and possibly helpful? Hi, this video just shows how to clone a hard drive. This is your chose to keep the old disk as back up or delete/formate it. However, you can simply delete the old drive(s) or format it with windows feature.
Follow these steps to delete the old drive: 1- plug the old drive to your computer 2- go to control panel > Administrative tools > computer management 3- select disk management 4- find the disk you want to delete the volume(s). 5- right click on the volumes and select delete. 6- after you deleted the volumes right click on the unallocated space the select new volume. 7- select the type of the volume and the size. PLEASE DO NOT FORGET ALL DATA WILL BE DELETED ONCE YOU DELETE OR FORMAT THE VOLUME. THIS IS YOUR OWN RISK.

THANK YOU, for sharing this info! After unsuccessfully a few other approaches using media related solutions(USB and CD), I was getting nowhere. Then I remembered, that in this instance, using regedit carefully, I could probably eliminate my login issue. I had success on my first try. But just for safety's sake, I imported the original registry entry into my Documents. Thanks again.
