God And Jesus Will Always Love You.
thank you for all the work you have done in putting this together. to my ears the Emerson drive the music very hard and at times the results seem harsh. it’s not a historically informed approach but they play with commitment. it’s just not how i see the work.
15:39 String Quintet in C major, D. 956 4mov.

Thank you Twoset
How on earth was this his opus 12?? A true prodigy...

As for Mozart, no one is ever allowed to tell Felix that he had too many notes. What he composed is the right amount. Lui era un genio.

anyone notice the part at 16:42 sounds like the transition to A flat major in the 1st movement of the 6th quartet? theres no way that's not some sort of nod to his youth.
20:50 was always my favorite
Sounds like the theme of the second movement was an inspiration for Schumann's last movement of kreisleriana (no8)
I am learning this on c. Guitar, checking to see how close F. Tarrega transcription of the Canzonetta part, and wondering what orig. key it is in. My trans.is Am A Am the whole Canzonetta. I think now because here it is either B flat major or G minor, it probably is G minor, because it begins and ends on the dominate fifth of D, then to G major, then back to G minor and ending the Canzonetta
1:30 the high note is so romantic <3
21:18 mükemmel
GROOSSARTIG !!!!!!! Tepper Michael.

Tbh, i don't wanna hate on mendelson or anything bcs hes a very good composer but why so many repeats...:(
because what he does write is absolutely beautiful and worth hearing again
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Came from twosetviolin, anyone else?
Me! But twoset played the 2nd mvt really fast though.
@@chimate3810 yea i actually prefer their rendition
@@timmyc9915 Yeah, me too.
@@timmyc9915 yeah i like that part tbh
Just realized twoset played fast
really? did you speed it up when you listened to this one to the speed they played.
@Alex Haggins II I checked it with a metronome, didn’t speed it up or anything. They played fast.
@@alexhagginsii8841 はははは
No they played slow
The played the beginning faster and then when they hit 9:12 which is piu mosso they played it slower
14:30 2nd violin play a B flat instead a C
I hear so much of Brahms in Mendelssohn's music
actually mendelssohn came before Brahms
Actually, Mendelssohn was before Brahms, which is interesting because Brahms likely inspired from Mendelssohn.
wow, so beautiful... heartbreaking yet with class
Which quartet is playing this?
Emerson
@@michelevolz7769 Thank you. Now I understand why this interpretation is so wonderful.
21:18 that key change back to e-flat major is the most best moment of the whole quartet... :)
C minor?
@@brandonmacey964 It's C minor to E flat major.
@@chimate3810 oh OK I see the moment now, very nice. Mendelssohn is so good. I prefer the second movement scherzo from the quartet in e minor
Even when Mendelssohn is clearly Romantic, many late Classical influences of Beethoven can be heard in the first movement!
The sonata pathetique’s motives are everywhere here :)
Lovely! Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you Mason!
very nice! thanks for uploading :)
