I like this knot because I can tie it in the boat in the wind. My only problem with it is if I use a long leader (so I don't have to replace the leader during a day of fishing) the line catches sometime on the spool when I make a cast, even if I've trimmed the leader up against the knot. Guess I can either use a shorter leader length that never ends up on the spool and just figure on retying at some point. Any other ideas?

I think so its a peacock grouper

I tied it this way then watched a video showing a similar knot except instead of doing the 7 wraps back toward the big loop just putting the tag end back through and pulling it tight. Half the wraps but it is smaller and seems very strong. Try it yourself and see.

Tried this knot seems strong but that mono tag end sure catches on the guides when casting so don't use it if you need to cast.
