Making Yogurt in a Wide Mouth Thermos
Here is the link to the Sandor Katz video I mentioned: ruclips.net/video/XEb7pCvYj3g/видео.html
Brief Summary of Instructions
• Heat milk to 180°F.
• Hold it at 180°F for 10-20 minutes.
• Cool the milk to 115°F.
• Mix 1 Tbs of yogurt starter with about ½ cup of 115°F milk for each quart/liter of milk.
• Mix the small amount of starter and milk into the pan of milk.
• Pour the milk into the wide mouth thermos and close tightly.
• Incubate for 7-8 hours. Incubate longer if you like your yogurt more sour or want less lactose.
• Refrigerate the yogurt. If you leave the yogurt in the thermos, be sure to take the top off so the cold gets to the yogurt. Alternatively, you can transfer the yogurt to anot...

The Road to Galway by Maria Linnemann
Просмотров 3387 лет назад
This is for my sister-in-law Robin who will be missed by many. The piece is by Maria Linnemann and can be found in her collection called Quiet Waters. I took a few liberties to make it a little easier in a couple of places. I'm playing a Kenny Hill New World Player spruce 615 mm.

I just got a new guitar! Here's a new recording with it. It's a little piece called Sepia by French composer Thierry Tisserand. The images are from the New York Public Library Digital Collections. What a treasure trove. The sheet music is available from Productions d'OZ. It's from a book of fairly easy pieces called Spleen Songs.

Birds Flew Over the Spire by Gary Ryan
Просмотров 59410 лет назад
From a description of the music: "Birds Flew Over The Spire is a short, lyrical piece which was also partly intended as a study to explore various ways in which the left hand can form the same harmonic shapes around the fingerboard. I am not keen on the title "study" however, as it often seems to stifle the imagination and perpetuate the myth that somehow technique is detached from music making...

The Harp That Once

The Harp That Once Through Tara's Halls was written by Irish Poet Thomas Moore (1779-1852) and arranged for guitar by Steve Marsh. I'm playing it on a Yamaha Guitalele which is a guitar about the size of a baritone or tenor ukulele. I simplified the beginning and end. The photograph's are from Grace's trip to Ireland. Poem: The harp that once through Tara's halls The soul of music shed, Now han...

This is so beautiful. I’m considering this very guitar. Actually was thinking of the cedar but I love the bell like quality here. Do you remember what strings you used?

I'm not sure what guitar I played this on. I think a Hill New World Player cedar 628mm. I sold that guitar some time ago. I now own a Player from spruce which is 615mm. The 3 most recent videos (although I haven't done much in a while) were recorded on the newer 615mm. I like the spruce. I also like the smaller body of the 615mm. I can't be sure because I sometime switch strings but usually use LaBella 2001. Thanks for listening and commenting.

@@amy55407 in the delcamp board you said this was the Spruce 615 on the post if that helps? It’s how I got here. I have the Cordoba cadete 615 but it just doesn’t have the tone I would like. I’m not expecting Hauser sound but it seems like these Hills are pretty nice.

@@chupie That's in my signature of what I own now but it's not the guitar I played on this recording. I have a Cordoba Cadet 615 also which I take with me when I travel by car. The Player is much nicer.

No, not the 615mm. That guitar is much newer. At this time I may have been playing an Almansa 636mm. Or it might have been my older 628mm New World Player. Thanks for the comments.

Thank you, I enjoyed that. My son is learning to play this piece and I listened to Gary Ryan playing this. I was rather surprised at the speed he took it which was a bit too fast for the relaxed and languid mood of the piece (to my mind at least). He wrote it but I definitely liked your speed better.
