the 8 1/4 rear end is a good choice for mpg. the backing plates for the breaks bolt right on. the 8 1/4 is also known as the corporate differential. at Chrysler everything was built in teams. TEAM CORPORATE was very proud of this diff.

You lost me at "trump" Oh well, I don't think I'd learn anything from you.
I like that color, looks good, almost like B3 blue.
I painted a 79 firebird Pontiac Blue in H.S. and loved it. Late 80s. 👍💪
👍💪
👍💪
Well it's gone from a 9 1/4 limited slip with a bad pinion bearing to a $100 8 1/4 one legger. So in my case it's going to be considerably noticeable. I'll update on the mpg on my next few fill ups
And... how fuel economy? My dodge takes 9.5 😖
Easy peasy.... C. Clips also suck for road racing they don't like side loading...10 bolt and 12 bolt Chevy both come with C clips... 8 3/4 and 9 3/4 Dana and ford 9's are the best choice.
👍💪
Sweet as!
👍💪
This is a cool vid, Different! 👍💪
Thank you. I sub'd to your channel. Hope you like what I got comin
I hope you got it with the one loose connector....anything past 96 its good to have a good bio-directional scanner with live data a good one about $500 this way you can do the wiggle test and see the effects on various sensors it's really the best way to nail a problem dead on... Also CRC 2-26 is plastic save and works better than WD40...the CRC 2-26 is save to spray into switches... Wiper..heqter...headlight...voleme controls on radios etc.. and cleans and improves electrical contact...just did a video on cleaning the heater control switches on my 74 charger and after it only pulled 7 or so amps on blower high that's good for a 20 amp circuit from 1974 😂
Electrical is not my specialty I just know how to find it with little tricks. Thanks for watching
313 cid has a nice ring to it for a small v8
If you look it up on the internet actually a bar and needle gauge style torque wrench is very accurate over a click style wrench...you can check both with a electronic torque adapter about $40... But even a click style torque wrench is fine I have several that I baby and check for torque once a year.... I also have a dial type that I use for setting up rear ends and measure preload on the pinion bearings... In inch pounds.... LA to me is the better engine than the new hemi.
Thanks for watching. Yes I need to pick up a needle style. And I agree 100 percent on the new hemi
You did better than the factory did back in the day when that A body was built.. good job... A more expensive panel doesn't always garrantee better fit AMD has made some A body quarter panels is the past that were two inches too short...thats why I used cheaper panel on my 72 dart but other panels like outer wheel housings and trunk drop offs were spot on from AMD.... If that was mine I'd make the repair patch myself to save as much of the original metal I could....bet the strut rod is bent too they are very thin on A body's.
Sorry but I think you mean b body. Yes it came out better than I expected. As far as the panel goes it's just over my skill level to save what's their. I'm going to be happy to put it behind me. Thanks for watching.
Cool sorry thought it was an A body lol...
You forgot the one glaring difference between forged and cast cranks is that forged cranks have thick parting line while cast cranks have thin parting lines....not all cast cranks are bullet nose... I have two motor home 440s one a 73 forged with six pak rods runs the regular internally balanced damper and I have a 73 motor home 440 cast crank with six pak rods that runs the actual bullet nose externally balanced dampner... A swing by 440 source info pages and you find this to be absolutely true.
Yes I always forget something but I'm just happy when I actually finish one lol I believe you
Can't wait for the christmas concert version!😂😂😂

Please subscribe and I will return the favor
Sounds like you just gave me my next video. I don't have a compressor right now. But I might think about that.
Good test...but a leakdown test is better... And will tell you exactly where its leaking.. Real easy to make a leakdown tester with the gauge you have just a few simple fittings and it's done and would make the guage quick release... 100psi air regulator and you will hear air out of crankcase or intake and even bubbles out of radaitor if those are the source of the leak..the 55psi seems like stuck rings or cracked rings to me.. But a leakdown would proof it.
One I have a stash of 70s/80s Mopar distributors...both points and mags... I prefer mag and a control box... I drive an 87 Ramcharger everyday...my son drives a 88 cougar everyday...and his second car is a 97 Chevy van... My wife drives a 97 Corolla... Just killed a 2001 taurus...cause it lost compression 286k!... Yeah. I can fix it but I don't want too! 😂...got a 2012 impala waiting in the wings.... Nah I'm not a mechanic... 😂😂😂....anything past 2001 is garbage modern turds!.. Laptops on wheels! That they only planned on recycling them not fixing them!..when is the last time you saw a 25 yr old computer still working.... Well you don't!.... just like the modern turds of today!
Yes I prefer the hall effect too but my cars all original and that's hard to come by
Cool I could work with that...
Yes it's not too bad when you stop and look at it. Thanks for watching
Mopar goes China = Mopar dead it's over..... I just keep driving my old Mopars.
Yes I'm thinking of trying to pick up a challenger at some point and that's it for me
When I changed my fluid on my c max I took off the driver side wheel and tire. There's a fill plug right on the side of trans. Was simple, trans worked fine. It was like changing a maual trans .
Interesting, what year was your car because the trans changed a bit depending on the year
@@318Magnum 2013
2013 fill and drain on drivers side.
With all the money & time spent (not to mention the sweat!) in building a 2-door, why not try to start with a 2-door!
Man it's so expensive I see princess around the country and I'd kill to find a good deal in my neck of the woods
I need a set of A body 340 manifolds for my 65 273 Dart.Im running J heads on it and the original rectangular port manifolds block about a inch of port on them. The set you have would be a upgrade for my A body
The ones I have are just some 273/318 manifolds I just used pictures from the Internet for everything else all I can say is try eBay
Did the same swap on my 70 coronet love it
Yeah I'm thinking about it on my satellite. Kinda think the b body is big for a manual for my taste but I'll probably end up putting it behind a 360
@haro997 5 speed 3.55 gear in a coronet is a fun ass car plus I get 18 mpg on the highway
@@michaelwhite4257 yes that's my motivation too mpg a part of also wants to put a 6 lug 9 1/4 in my dart and cut the wheel wells also with a 5 speed
@@318Magnum nice sounds like a fun little car
I was gonna say, the factory didn't use exhaust manifold gaskets, stop doing this! If the surfaces aren't flat, true them up. Any tiny leaks should seal themself with carbon pretty quickly and if not, the surfaces aren't flat, fix it. I've removed plenty of aftermarket gaskets and reinstalled with no gasket to fix burned aftermarket gasket issues.
Great point!
😎👍
What do you use for gasket replacement? Do you get leaks?
For exhaust manifolds I don't use gaskets just bolt em on. I've had good luck with headers not too many leaks just using the regular gasket
I put ‘70 340 manifolds on my ‘69 318 Barracuda. Wish I had never sold it.
I have a few of those stores but just gotta keep moving forward good luck to ya
You got to love all the 92/93 exhaust manifold talk ever since I sent the set out to Richard holdner for Dyno testing.
Yes I knew about them already but I definitely watched that one
340 TA exhaust manifolds are the largest in volume. If your checking junk yards, look for the RT Dakota, Durango, or factory equipped headers. Little red express variation will fit!
I'm sorry but the Dakota RT was never equipped with headers from the factory nor was it ever equipped with RT cylinder heads which were aftermarket for Mopar.
To my knowledge the R/T dur, dak, were the same engine but mostly a suspension and drivetrain package. Although I still think it had a different program because you could burn out all day long
The R/T heads were Mopar performance sold only and they aren't worth it from what I've heard
@@318Magnum Out oh the box the RT head flows around 20cfm more However it has thicker decks and 180cc runners. My ported set with 1.92 vales flow just under 270cfm at .550. Not bad for some iron. They also do not have the crack issues of the production mags.
👍💪
I think the two doors had the bat wing window, 4 doors do not.
I forgot they were called that. Haven't heard that in a long time.
Wheel base is longer on 4dr. Hope you got frame cutting and alignment skills.
Well I'm only taking about making it a two door not changing the quarter panels. But I have read on chat sites from people who have done it that it is a difference in a leaf spring bracket. Eather way it only leaves space in front of the tire which isn't a problem
Why don't you convert a 2dr to a four door. Nobody would ever see it coming like stealing back to home from first base.
If you ever do that please send me all the left over old parts. Lol
Sounds like a LOTof work and expense only to create an arguably undesireable freak. Sorry;just sayin.
Why not just keep the 4 doors. Make it a muscel inspired hot rod. Think crew cab hot rod.
I kinda like your view point
@@318Magnum it's the way I'd go
Well look at it this way; if you screw it up, at least you haven't lost much.
Why? That's a lot if worn and a fast 4dr would be way cooler than any 2dr.
@@adambomb3839 agreed
Bad idea.
Well is a salvage title so it would be the perfect candidate
Just make something like an El amino out of that save yourself time money and aggravation.
It's too bad Chrysler never made a car/truck
@@318Magnum really? Then he can make one.
I think it is a great idea. Is there a way you can start with a couple of two door hard top doors, door glass, and rear quarter glass from a hard top. Then, you can do the conversion to two doors and later, if you decide, put on the roof and "W" triple curve rear glass of a 68-70 hard top. In other words, do the conversion in two phases.
It's all or nothing but I can do the conversation the way I want to just with no glass and make something work later.
That white car is not a 66 Coronet; it's a 69 that someone was probably trying to make into a Super Bee clone. Good luck with your project. Personally, its more work than I'd ever take on. I'd make it into an Adam-12 police car myself..... 😎
Yes that is a 69. I was just saying the 66 is the model I'm looking at as an example, but looking at it closer the roof line isn't the same so the glass won't be a good fit
@@318Magnum Glad you noted that. The 66 wouldn't work for you. I have my dad's 66 Coronet crew cab that he bought new. They made the Coronet body style in a 2 door post, 2 door hardtop, 4 door post, and the convertible. Neither are good for what you are planning. My advice is make it a sleeper crew cab. I rebuilt my dad's engine to keep the car all original. Just a little 273 that gets horrible gas mileage due to an Isky E-4 cam and 2 tons of mass to move. I picked up a Carter AFB 750 along with a 273 Commando intake. My plan is to re-jet the 750 for the small displacement engine and see if I can wake it up. It currently rocks it's original 2bbl.
@@LongIslandMopars what are you using for exhaust manifolds? I'm thinking of keeping the originals because the ports are so small and close together that nothing really works well besides I like the look of all original
@@LongIslandMopars if I could use a Ford size 2 barrel I would maybe keep the 2B but Mopar's are so small. Had a 78 351M with a 2b and it was a great driver. Maybe the 383 ones are bigger?
@@318Magnum I think they are all the same except for the jets. I tried running a Carter 2bbl from a Slant 6 Volare on the 273. Same cfm but the engine was choked. I went back to the original Carter 2bbl and just kept tuning on it until it was perfect. I also tried a Bendix Stromberg WW3 carb from a 318 and it was great but no better at performance than the Carter BBD. I'll be curious when I put the jetted down 750 4bbl on it.
Wait not 4 transmissions on this same car right??
Sorry this took so long. Yes 4 transmissions same car under a 3 year warranty. Something would break on the internals on the driver's side axle input shaft. It would cause a leak that could not be fixed with a new seal and after a while it would scream like a banshee
you replaced 4 transmissions in that car?!?
Yes and when the warranty expired on the last one it was okay because I had learned how to take extra care of it. But I quite driving for Uber/Lyft and I sold the car while it was still in good condition
Thanks . This will fix the transmission limited function message?
I never had transmission limited function on my C-MAX. I drove the hell out of it even when it ran bad
