That's cool. I couldn't find much info on where a Dirt Bug was ever sold

@ yeah it wasn’t a dirt bug, but it was a real plain Jane red minibike with no suspension and scrub brakes. I think it had a 3 1/2 hp Tecumseh on it. when I was a kid, we used to go down there and sit on them all the time. That was like 1968

@ there’s a few guys on RUclips like musky1 pterodactyl these guys are pretty knowledgeable and they may know who sold them

@fuel_up You did forget one thing to make sure you don't have to replace them often, dust caps... the small little plastic to keep dirt out etc.

I have never used those. Might go buy some... they would definitely help avoid this problem 👍

The tubes were bought online and I drilled a hole that was 3mm larger in diameter than the tubes.

It's a 2 stroke engine so you have to mix the oil and gas

I usually just copy how the old filter was installed. Sometimes there is an arrow showing which way the filter goes. Hopefully that helps!

@fuel_up Thanks man! I already took mine out and put it back in but don't recall if I put it the same way I took it out lol I'll be putting a new one tomorrow. I was just checking to see if I needed a replacement.

For the D16 engine in my car, I made sure the paper fins stick up about 1 inch from the orange gasket surface.

The smaller air filter is actually the proper one for the machine. There is no problem with air flow and it runs great!

Turned out the shifter linkage was still intact. We had to replace the whole transmission

It's a simple motor setup. Use a volt meter to find the power and ground and that should help
