Malaria Elimination in Asia Pacific
Сингапур
Добавлен 11 июл 2016
APLMA is an affiliation of Asia and Pacific heads of government, formed to accelerate progress against malaria and to eliminate it in the region by 2030. APLMA was created by the East Asian Summit (EAS) leaders in 2014 to further strengthen anti-malaria efforts, both to help protect hard-won national gains and, ultimately, to defeat malaria in the region altogether.
The Asia Pacific Malaria Elimination Network (APMEN) is a network of countries and stakeholders in the Asia Pacific region, that are committed to working towards malaria elimination. The Network acts as a platform to allow collaboration and exchange between national malaria control programs and 52 international elimination partners from the academic, research, non-governmental and private sectors, as well as UN and donor institutions.

Climate-Health Linkages in Infectious Disease Surveillance
Climate and environmental change can potentially expand the geographic distribution of certain diseases, resulting in more unpredictable and potentially worsened outbreaks. Changes in temperature, humidity, rainfall, and land use shift the suitability of transmission for vector-borne diseases like malaria and dengue, introducing the burden of disease to novel populations. To adapt to the changes in disease risk and inform interventions, the health sector is finding more linkages in their work with climate research and solutions, such as climate-health models. Integrating and using climate-health data can improve health system responsiveness and outcomes by effectively predicting, detectin...

Vector control is the single most effective intervention for achieving a reduction in malaria transmission. Such vector control must be underpinned by a thorough understanding of which vector species are present in a particular area, relative abundance of the various species, breeding site preference, feeding and resting behavior, insecticide susceptibility, data management and interpretation, ...

Thanks for sharing the recorded video.
Hon. PMJM, WE APPLAUD HON. PMJM FOR THE POWERFUL WORDS OF COURAGE, STRENGTH AND WISDOM RELEASED TO BLESS THE PACIFIC BROTHERHOOD REGION. God bless the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea Rt. Hon. James Marape MP and God bless his citizens. Amen.
Thank you for the summit and talks and taughts on Malaria prevention and elimination. I only want to comment about "prevention and elimination". I believe it is right to say prevention and minimise, NOT elimination. Malaria had been part of the eco system in Coastal areas of PNG ever since, and it is a created thing by the Creator, therefore only the Creator can eliminate and not the created beings. We only as much as possible try to prevent and minimise through preventive methods identified and creative medications.

Amazingly Suberb! Thank you for sharing this video. On behalf of our people of Kambaramba villages, Keram in Angoram & Nubia & Sisimagum villages in Bogia Districts, I thank the Team Malaria in its tremendous work in prevention and elimination of Malaria in Papua New Guinea! I understand there is a Malaria vaccine that ia being tried in Africa and other parts of the world and wish to appeal to our authorities that this Malaria vaccine be tried in Papua New Guinea also. I must thank & commend the closing remarks & backing of the Government and from our Prime Minister James Marape in addressing the 8 th Leaaders' Summit on Malaria. Greetings from Madang, Papua New Guinea.
Reaching the unreached is the focus of the team. However, logistical challenges sometimes hinder the ability to reach the remote populace because PNG is a diverse country. Working in collaboration, we can solve some of this issues.
I would appreciate the speakers comments on a paper published last month. "Palestine 100 years ago seen through the malaria lens: an examination of successful malaria elimination, and of where the malaria community seems to have taken a wrong turning." at www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC11027447/ Do the speakers agree in principle with the issue raised?
A job well done to you and your team for reaching out to the remotest areas of our beautiful country PNG. I greatly appreciate your tireless efforts, giving your very best in trying to reduce or eliminate the killer disease Malaria. Thank you very much and may the good Lord continuosly shower you with blessings and strengthen you as you reach out to his people❤👍💯
Thanks for helping the government in reaching out to the remote communities which are unreachable by government health workers..May the Lord protect you and your colleagues in carrying out this vital service for humanity..🙏🙏🙏

Thank you very much for your kind contribution and sharing experience
Great and amazing

Very good hearing about the cow baited trap or "animal baited trap". As you know, they mey not have the ability to have cow baited traps every where. However, this option shows great promiss. It would be good to field test some of those options in Africa.
actually, the density of Anopheles spp were usually low when collected by HDNT and lowest compared other methods (OHLC and Cow bait trap)
Malaria is one of most deadly VBD diseases. Climate / warming impact is evident. Proliferation of vector caused by many other factors. Crisis impacted dg, care of patients with heavy mortality consequence. Artemisine resistance and need for dg, resilient infrastructures. Vector control like World mosquito program framework could help with 360°approach. Thus including vaccine progress. Ayurveda and traditional medicine similarly like artemisia might be another path to look into( reverse pharmacology) dr ivana haluskova balter. Happy to assist .
Great video! Great work!
