      they're called shell voicings. you take a 7th chord and omit the 5th, so you're left with the other three notes.

      @roadhawg59 Месяц назад

      Definitely not trying to be disrespectful in any way and I apologize if I came off that way. I just know that a LOT of guitar players out there, myself included, have no formal music training or just a rudimentary understanding of music, yet have a very good grasp of how music sounds, or should sound. If that makes sense. When I start hearing about a Gm sus 4 to the fifth with a major third added just for fun... I'm out. That's not fun, that just kills the mood. That's all I meant.

    • @NewVerseMethod
      @NewVerseMethod Месяц назад

      No problem, I appreciate the feedback. Just sounds like you're not my target audience. My tutorials are geared toward people who are interested in digging into the details of the music, including theory (hence the "Deep Dive" in the title).

    This is a great turorial. I recently bought a 3/4 size classical guitar and initially did not like the sound of the nylon strings. So I almost returned it. However, I've found that Nick Drake and his strange tunings sound great on it.

    • @EnckeAndTheTadpoles
      @EnckeAndTheTadpoles 2 месяца назад

      Hi, If I may suggest, I use pink Savarez strings on my classical since years which have a brilliant tone I think. I just tried out other strings yesterday and they sound so dull and no sustain compared to them, changing it back today. It might be a good idea to change your strings perhaps if you have cheaper ones on it as there is a possibility that could be an issue for the bad sound or at least an addition. For me it makes a bit difference I just relearned because of this issue. Have a good time! :)

      Hi, Cameron ( I don't want to clog up your comments) I have but 2 more questions, Would your Guitar be an OM ?/ Concert? ( Size) and nut width / Spacing is more akin to a Classical Fretboard ? , I am seriously considering having a Guitar made, kind regards

    • @NewVerseMethod

    • @richardnita8176
      @richardnita8176 2 месяца назад

      Said the person that can't do it. I wouldn't even take a s*** to Fleetwood Mac. Look at it this way, The kind of guitarists you like could never play Slayer or any other heavy metal music yet all of those guys could easily play Lindsey Buckingham or whatever the hell kind of music you like, quite easily.

    • @NewVerseMethod
      @NewVerseMethod 2 месяца назад

      I don't think that's true. Most metal guitarists/shredders aren't going to be well-versed in fingerpicking, particularly with the level of dynamic control that Buckingham has. It's a different skillset. But regardless, the point is that technique alone does not make a great guitarist. Thanks for watching!

    • @richardnita8176
      @richardnita8176 2 месяца назад

      @@NewVerseMethod dynamic control? You're acting like Lindsey Buckingham is Mark Knopfler. Lindsay Buckingham plays the most basic finger picking stuff where he mostly picks the same pattern and just shuffling the cord back and forth. Come on man. I've been playing since I was 9 years old and I take it very seriously. I don't think the new generation does and there's a lot of people that just do sweeps, which I don't like, but you can't compare people like Marty Friedman to Lindsay Buckingham and then say shredding is just ridiculous. I know you're not the one that said it but someone else did and that's what I commented on.

    • @NewVerseMethod
      @NewVerseMethod 2 месяца назад

      I agree that there's value in shredding; I know I can't play like Marty Friedman and would be happy if I could! But I think you might gain some more appreciation for Lindsey Buckingham if you tried learning Never Going Back Again or even the chorus of Landslide. Imaginative, emotionally resonant, and not technically easy.
