Incredible video. I was born and Raised in New york and I was a toddler when 9/11 happened and I can’t help but have a morbid curiosity about it since it happened so close and I pass by the WTC all the time. My heart goes out to all victims, first responders, and everyone who witnessed this day.

How eerie to hear the controllers and the rest of the world has no idea of the impending disaster. And God bless Betty and all the plane crews. Breaks my heart 24 years later and always will. I was 33 when this happened. Living in Houston, my then boyfriend (now husband) was on the commuter bus heading to work. I called him after the first plane hit, and I was on the phone with him when the second plane hit. Downtown Houston was then evacuated because at that point the fear was that every major city was under attack. He got home just as the first tower collapsed. My 18 year old daughter just watched this video and shared it with me. It is probably the most important piece of media she will ever see about this and what it was really like living through it in real time. Thank you.

My father is a pilot and he was in the air that day when the orders were given to land all aircraft immediately - he said he got so nervous when he heard the call because no one in the air knew anything. The air traffic controller sounded absolutely terrifying and my dad wondered if he had somehow inadvertently wandered into restricted airspace. Meanwhile my grandmother was watching the morning news and saw the whole thing live. My grandfather had served in WWII as a radio technician in the South Pacific - all of us grandchildren lovingly referred to him as ‘Beebop’ due to him installing a radio system between my grandparents farmhouse and his wood shop so he could talk to my grandmother in the house during the day. When the first of his grandchildren arrived, he would talk to him over the radio, and as soon as he learned to talk, my cousin started calling him Beebop because of the quiet popping noises he heard over the radio. After my grandfather had served in WWII, he became a radio antenna designer to provide for his family. He helped design the red and white radio antenna on top of Tower 1. As the building collapsed, my grandmother watched her husbands work fall into the ashes. What a strange and horrifying day that touched the lives of millions in so many subtle and catastrophic ways. The world has never been quite the same.💔

What's crazy to me seeing all of these commercials from 20 years ago. That was back in a time when we all watched TV and saw the same commercials as our friends. Bringing back lots of memories watching TV as a family.
