brad did a great job all things considered. carlos left behind a pair of shoes too large to fill for even legendary bassists. i still fuck up on the breakdown bc it's hard asf to hit the 5 fast high notes as quickly and clean as carlos does. can't blame him for altering the rhythm to become playable, although it sounds much weaker than the original. also, i dislike the staccato rendition of the notes at 4:39 guitar riff. paul should let the notes ring out, it sounds way more impactful.

They need to bring the bassist into the fold....Carlos is not coming back and he has earned his chops. You do not want to set up a Jason Newsted sort of issue when everyone knows he is pulling his weight but does not see him as a member of the band...sort of like like all the guys who have played and been excellent with with Depeche Mode but no one can identify them.. just saying...

O H M Y .... this is my fav version of this song: the lyric, the music, the chorus, Paul's voice, the bass rythm, the hypnotic guitars.....Kessler is a fckn' genius, you can see here how he's leading all the piece and Paul is a some kind of extension from him....masterpiece, my god

Paul has a disaster of a voice. He should quit smoking and do something with his voice. Their last albums are unlistenable because of his scratchy old man miserable vocal

I really love this song, but this "I'll bury you like treasure..." even in case of a dead buddy it sounds weird to me... , my suggestion would be like :"You're a part of me eternally.":))) anyway, apart from that it's a masterpiece for sure :)) !!!

Interpol is one of those bands that are just something else, nothing sounds like them, there will never be something like them, and it’s a shame about Paul’s voice, and don’t get me wrongc I mean he can still sing but it’s nothing close to what it was back then, I love them tho, thanks for existing 🫶🏻
