Estuve en el recital el Viernes 16 de Mayo en el Teatro Caupolican y fue el dia mas especial desde Talca fui a Santiago a verlos y mas encima abrase a Steve Hogarth emosionante total...lejos mi mejor dia con esta Gran Banda que es Marillion. Feliz total.

This man is trying SO hard to imitate Buddy Rich... and failing miserably. His stick technique is so sloppy that Stevie Wonder could see it! This guy uses his entire arm to do his high hat solo, instead of simply hand and wrist. If an elephant was to try and copy Buddy, this would be it. It was painful to watch.

No its not technically its Kia's song, Helloween might be label of the song, but since Kia's there playing it, so technically its not a Helloween cover.

I just had to reply. How did you come to these conclusions? Kiske also wrote "You Always Walk Alone" in the Keepers. As for Pink Bubbles and Chameleon, Michael Weikath wrote tracks like "Number One", "Windmill" and "Revolution Now". Additionally Weikath has stated in interviews that he wanted to go commercial and couldn’t write metal songs at the time. Helloween is doing better because they returned to their "famous sound", after blaming Kiske for the change of direction during the early 90’s.

Well there are around 3 pages of comments, mainly yours, that have nothing to do with this video. The rendition of the song on this video is very good, by the way. Deris will stop getting crap from people if himself and Weikath decide to minimize the number of Kiske-era songs they perform during Helloween's concerts.

Nice excuse concerning all of Derise's problems. As for Kiske I hear no sings of struggle and there isn't a single G5 note on this song! Perhaps you refer to the E5 at 2:43, but that is modal and perfectly supported. It has been around 24 years since he sang that song and he is not 20 anymore, but still in this version he is using more chest voice and doing a very admirable job. The only thing I agree with is that Kiske needs more practice or live experience to be at 100% again.

Following your logic, you and valdyrgramr both sound like Deris fanboys who go around Kiske videos to bash him and praise Deris! It is not that I hate Derise's vocals, he is simply not the more technical/better singer. His live performances prove it all, I don't have to "oppress" anyone, facts speak for themselves. You are free to like whoever you want, but you shouldn't bash someone to make someone else look better.

Wow you have really dragged this out and you start sounding crazy! The whole thing started when you came to a Kiske video to bash him and praise Deris as a better vocalist! Ok, you are trying to prove that Deris is a great singer and that Weikath is to blame for his bad live performances, nonsense! For example, as mentioned, Helloween have tuned down the old songs. Deris never had a very good technique to begin with. You can like him more, but that doesn't make him a better singer.

"His G5s and A5s are rasped falsettos", you are hilarious; Kiske's falsetto is so much stronger and controlled compared to Derise's, that it isn't even comparable! Just admit that Deris can sing properly only in the studio, he always used to mess up live. I'm no fan boy, I just respect and know the difference between mediocre and good vocals!

Derise's voice is shot because he rasps and shrieks even in his modal range, not only when he uses falsetto. Signs of bad technique. As for pitch he has problems from the beginning of the shows not after singing "all three eras"!

Sure so I guess Tate, Scheepers and Chris Cornell for example are all "baritenors" and Deris is the only "high baritone"! Get serious! Derise's technique was never something to brag about and he had difficulties with the higher staff since he first joined Helloween. Additionally Helloween have downtuned the old Helloween songs for him but he still fails. Finally Deris has problems from the 1st song of the show!

Deris keeps struggling, cracking, sounding raspy and forced and using weak falsetto all the time! There is no excuse, no one forces Deris to sing all these old songs. Even if that is the case he should refuse to sing them, rather than make himself look that bad! Finally it is true that Deris is a better composer, but he sucks as a singer when compared to Kiske.

Geoff Tate was a high baritone as well and he used to sing in a higher range with no problems. Yes perhaps Kiske can't compose (metal songs), but Deris can't sing and just keeps making a fool of himself and Helloween. Just admit it that Derise's voice is shot and he can pull it off only in the studio. Helloween's latest live performances prove all this!
