Gosh this was 2008. She was barely an adult. So oblivious to what was to come... Then *boom* by 2017 she had already received 15 Grammys, 9 BRIT Awards, an Oscar, a Golden Globe and countless other accolades. Now here we are in 2022.. 120 million album sales later, and she's still topping the charts with her newest release. She's achieved so much in quite a short period of time, yet what I'm most impressed by is how she still remains her down to earth self today. She is a very talented, but also a genuine and funny young lady. Adele will no doubt go down in history as one of the greatest things to happen to the music industry.
Watching this over a decade later makes me so emotional. She has since become one of the biggest most successful artists in the world. I still remember when Chasing Pavements came out and I was like "this girl's voice is EVERYTHING". Look at her now 😭 She's come so far it's insane. And aside from her talent, she's always just had the most fun and endearing personality and she hasn't lost that at all. I adore her and I'm so proud of everything she's achieved. She deserves it all 🤍
..Decades from now, future generations will find an Adele CD in a bargain bin & their life will change just like Etta James changed hers ❤️. People calling @Adele bouijie for spending some of her fortune on herself & family/friends, but many don’t mention her humbleness and starting from the bottom. Anyone deserves to enjoy what they worked (works) so hard for. Don’t take her sunshine, go find your own.
Etta James is incredible. Just watched this video for first time, didn't realize Adele was doing more laid back jazzy music back then it's so wonderful.
I miss her authenticity! Can't question her talent but there's something very fake about her these days. She's the only person I've seen complain on stage about being a celebrity/ hating the lifestyle etc, whilst surrounded by celebrities & fame-chasers. It's a shame that success does this to people. 😩
She has just matured and knows what she likes/dislikes now. She’s never liked fame, she’s been consistent with that. She likes to make music and to sing, but despises fame. People confuse a 33 year old woman owning her power and simply being the boss that she is for being fake and a diva, so to say. Whereas, it’s just simply that she’s not a naive 19 year old girl anymore who isn’t aware of her own talent. It was endearing, but she can’t stay that way forever I’m afraid. It would be very sad if she did stay that way and never displayed growth, actually. She is the same person; just a more mature, powerful, self-aware, and self-assured woman and artist. Please don’t mistake that for being “fake”.

@@TheBenAppleby whaaaaat? you think? i can so hear her emotion in 30! listening to her elaborate in her interviews about the story behind her songs is really nice. i feel like as soon as artists reach global fame to the point she’s at now, the world loves to scrutinize them just because they aren’t the same as when they were first recognized (like 14 years ago in her case). i don’t see it as fake, just genuinely used to the fame. also, there’s a slight new degree of confidence to her… maybe because she looks so different physically… but she’s still still thankful and easily moved by fans’ reactions to her work. confidence is so attractive, (that’s why everyone loves her), but i’ve never noticed her be cocky about anything.
