@@DogMania it took me about 5 months... I was home a lot due to covid. It would take longer now for sure.
What size jets did you put in there? And for the air pod filters what’s the sleeve around them?? I’m having trouble getting mine to start 🥴
I drilled out the jets to about 118 and 45. I used clith electrical tape to wrap the pods. I left about 1.5" open on the pods.
I love this build so much!!! I need you to do that for an XJ750 Maxim I picked up!
where did you buy new yamaha tank emblems, mine are completely shattered, but i have trouble finding new ones...

great job man i have one like it made it a bobber, but i cant figure out how to add LED lights man it wont work.... I tried changing relay but nothing, if u don't mind to share that with me it would be much appreciated.
@@kikoperiko6165 led headlight or blinkers? The blinkers I have just require a constant 12v to flash. I didn't have to change anything.
@@joelt8887 i tried to add the blinkers just to the existing connections , headlamp i dint try i was afraid after that outcome that it wouldn't work,,,

Nope sorry, not much of a youtuber. I've got the carbs tuned and I've been enjoying it since the vid... everything I got for it was from ebay or Amazon. If you have any questions though let me know.

Great build! I’m working on finishing up my ‘80 XJ650. What exhaust is that though? It sounds amazing and I’d love to throw it on my bike as well
Also are those the stock headers? My 650 has dual exhaust, one on each side of the bike and I like that single exhaust style
Yeah, I think they all come with dual exhausts. Unfortunately I don't know the brand. I was fortunate enough to get them with a parts bike. The tip is just a $30 ebay brand

The gaps between the seat and side panels are ugly as fuk, another classic butchered,not running right either,sputters in high rpm bad coils or bad valve maybe.
Do you gotta tune your car when installing an intake ? Or it depends on the intake you put
I didn't get a tune. It seemed to run good for a while but I ended up removing it because I started having issues with bogging. Not sure if it was an issue with the intake or not though.

I'm not a pro by any means. I wouldn't feel right taking anyone's money. I worked on it for about 6 months, so it wouldn't really be cost effective. It really has to be a labor of love.
Where did you get those bars? I’m trying to find them for my 650 Maxim. Beautiful bike by the way!

P0172 is a rich condition & P0174 is a lean condition, wouldn't they cancel each other out? :)

Looks good, but it's not a cafe racer. The seat is all you have in that direction.

What jets did u have to use for the carbs for the air pod filters
I drilled the stock ones out. About 118 for the main and either 45 or 50 for the idle. It runs rich at idle but rides fine.

Low vacuum can cause a p0172. What is the reading on your MAP/MAF sensor? Have you had the scheduled valve adjustment? I've replaced almost everything that needed replacement. I'm at 247k miles. I replaced original EGR, EVAP purge valve, FTP sensor and charcoal canister, coils, spark plugs (due), the only thing I have not tackled are the valves. I even replaced the 3 injections on bank 1 and ST and LT fuel trims on bank 1 read about the same, rulling out a leaking injector. Just fyi before you start replacing parts and it's low mileage. I didn't mind because these were due anyway.

Thank you! Yes, stock forks... yeah, I wanted to be somewhat comfortable while riding, so I went with taller handlebars.

No issues with the plastics. The muffler never gets hot enough to melt anything.
Not enough heat makes it back there. The exhaust system is pretty long
