The Wonder Years - How Jack and Norma Met
How did Jack and Norma meet?
Back in his high school days, Jack needed a tie for an upcoming dance, so he went to Macy's -- where his crush, Norma Gustafson, worked. While there, she helped him decide which tie to buy. Later, he called her at Macy's about returning it as an excuse to see her again. Though he went back and replaced the tie, the experience ended up being a failed attempt at getting her attention. Of course, she was unaware of his crush on her at that time.
Shortly thereafter, he won her over at the aforementioned dance after a fight with his best friend, Dick Claiborne, whom of which was her date. All throughout that night, his Macy's tie bore witness as the tale of Jack and ...

"Why Don't You Be the Moon for a While?" (from episode 1, "Hey Vern, It's Outer Space") Why don't you be the moon for a while? You could sit in, just take a spin around the Earth in style I've never gotten one vacation Even though I almost always shine I'd gladly trade my favorite constellation Just to see an unemployment line Why don't you be the moon for a while? The next time you're relaxing...

The Wonder Years - Kevin and Julie Aidem

This is my edit of ep. 5.15 - "Of Mastadons and Men", which summarizes Kevin and Julie's relationship. I cut most of the narration and blank stares out, as well as shortened scenes. It keeps the bizarre vibe between Kevin and Julie intact, as well as Kevin's frustration of not being able to hang out with the guys as much.

Marshall introduces a friend, Tod McNulty, to some "headbanging music" (Pit Bull Surfers), and he ends up getting into them a little too much. This is all from what would have originally been the 5th episode, "The Broken Record", had it aired when it was supposed to. This video is my condensed version/edit of Tod's transformation without most of the dramatic, family scenes.

The Wonder Years - "Brian Cooper Was Killed"
I wish every kid could experience the golden days of Nickelodeon like us millenials. God, what great times. To go through the confusion of youth with Nickelodeon as an ever present reference to figure it out, or at least feel like you did, was a special kind of adventure. Nickelodeon was a private world where we kids made the rules, and occasionally took some innocent revenge on the grownups, who we knew weren’t as smart as us. Pete and Pete was actually never my favorite. I found it unsettling. But as an adult, I appreciate how well-made it is, and the surreal tone is actually not too far off from how the world appears to an eight year old. Maybe that’s why some found it relatable. Me, I was always more of a Salute Your Shorts, Ren & Stimpy kind of kid. Still, that closing line was perfect: “I guess some things are meant to stay a mystery.” Right you are, Pete. That’s growing up. Adults will do things that you don’t understand yet, and maybe still won’t when you become one, and that’s ok. Then we grew up and figured out, once childhood is over, nobody waves a magic wand to make sense of the world. Sure, you might gain some wisdom along the way, get a few answers, make better choices, be a better person than you were yesterday. But make no mistake, we’re all just winging it at this life thing. No matter how far we’ve come, we will always have more questions than answers. Maybe in that way, we’re all still kids deep down, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Thanks for the memories, Nickelodeon .
Watched this growing up and was best show at the time. Seems gay now and Whinnie looks too skinny
kevin could really be a d*ck
Cutie Kevin
The dubbing into Latin Spanish is incredible, the best series.
Win brudda was the only sad moment
Mr sprinkly origin story be like:
DONT BE A WEENER
I’m starting to think this was a Joker situation and Kevin only imagined that Winnie was there.
I loved the Wonder Years. Funny and serious at the same time.
Sunsets were different back then.
lol the bwoosh I guess this was a 60s 70s thing, maybe 80s. I went to high school in the 90s and never heard of this until I saw it on sitcoms
Is that REM lead singer Michael Stipe??
Yes
Wayne was hillarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wait a minute “Hawk Tuah” time traveller wow
Gosh, I remember this episode. It was erie.
REM
I loved that Kevin's older brother, Wayne, called Kevin "scrote." Short for Scrotum. This is the stuff that made this show authentic and nostalgic.
Makes me sad. A show as good as this shouldve been shot on film, not on videotape. This will be as good as the show will look, save for some fake AI upgrades.
The most surreal episode of the most surreal show on Nickelodeon
This one episode of Pete and Pete had to have hit Jane Schoenbrun so deep. Their film “I Saw The TV Glow” alludes to it several times. - There’s a glowing ice cream van and an evil ice cream man who laments that he can only exist in the summer and has nowhere to go in the winter. - Maddy has a crush on Michael Stipe - Both actors who played Pete and Pete have a short cameo.
My favorite episode
I wasn't watching the show on abc until season 3 so the first time I saw this episode is when abc reaired it in the spring of 92 for whatever reason. The show had just finished the 5th season at that point and for whatever reason they decided to air the pilot
That's how it was in Australia, each channel decides the order of release, series were never broadcast in order
As a kid I never picked up on all the musician and celebrity cameos. Michael Stipe, Kate Pierson, Deborah Harry, LL Cool J, Iggy Pop (who was actually a regular as Nona's dad), Adam West, Steve Buscemi, etc.
Iggy Pop, Adam West, and Steve Buscemi were more like legitimate recurring guest characters than "Cameos." Along those lines, another celebrity guest appearance I liked was Janeane Garofalo playing a high school English teacher in "X= Why?" She made for a pretty amusing character in it and her line delivery was great.
my fav show on TV ever. I was/am Kevin Arnold in every way. Had all his experiences. Especially the teacher Mrs White
1:33 Sometimes you don't need to say anything. Just be there.
So this is what inspired I SAW THE TV GLOW.
Who is here after watching I Saw the TV Glow?
I was born in 1962. When I was just seven years old I used to ride my bicycle, alone, to the neighborhood convenience store, a little over a mile away from our home. No one thought anything of it, as everyone did it, as well as hitchhiking on a regular basis. You wouldn’t dream of letting your children do that today!
Seriousness aside, Kevin got out of his mess out of sheer (un)luck.
i saw the tv glow
who else seeing they tv glow
LOL, did David Lynch direct this episode? WTH
Came here after TV Glow
I don't get it haven't seen the movie so I don't get it. I don't care about I'm probably not going to watch it.
MAGA
Came here because a memory of this scene awoke after watching I Saw the TV Glow
Just saw I Saw The TV Glow and this episode definitely inspired it
God the 60s must've been amazing but terrifying at the same time. Jfk, rfk, mlk, and malcolm x assassinations, vietnam, the Civil rights movement, the moon landings, the cold war, the Cuban missle crisis, etc. Id love to be able to experience the 60s without hindsight. I was born in 1987, but i wish id been born in 1947-1957 instead. Back when a family could really thrive with a single income. A simple factory worker, construction worker, or mechanic could make enough money to buy a home, vacation 1 or 2 times a year (maybe more if he was careful), support his wife and kids, put his kids through college, etc. You really have to be careful these days just to afford rent. Its especially bad if you live in places like New York, California, Miami, Chicago, Austin, etc. Ive seen apartments and houses going for $1,500 to $3,000 a month for a complete dump. Ive been in the same place for years so im only paying $600 a month (it was orginally $525 like 6 years ago when we moved in), but i dont know how other folks do it. Crazy. I think this is the main reason people are going crazy.
This is the skeleton key to I Saw the TV Glow
Skeleton key?
I'm watching, saying "isn't that Michael Stipe?" and sure enough it was. Haha crazy times.
Where on Long Island are there mountains and palm trees?
I remember this episode. I sat with my dad, and he talked about my uncle Charlie, how he was after coming back from Vietnam.
used to watch this with my granny, she just recently passed. i loved her more than words can describe. sharing this song as a laugh was the best moment i’ve had with her as a kid by far. love you granny
This is a memory that my friends and me used to talk about every time we talk about the Wonder Years.😢
God the agony!
the new wonder years is godawful... im just glad we can watch the old one!
Wonder Years by far the best TV series I have ever seen. I was late teen when it aired. I have so much empathy for Kevin and his adventures. I went through lots of the same stuff he went through. A true romantic kid. I have watched this series in its entirety at least 12-15 times. I never get tired of it. Such a deep and emotional show. The endings were ALWAYS beautiful.
0:39-0:44 My how times have changed . Look at all these children getting abducted now .
What's the name of the song melody in the beginning??
It's an original by W.G. Walden. He wrote or contributed to most of the instrumental music heard throughout the series.
🥺😢☹️✝️⛪
