Добавлен 15 авг 2018
Praised for their “intensity and bravado” and the “cohesion and intonation one might expect from an ensemble twice their age” (Third Coast Review), the Callisto Quartet brings together four dedicated and passionate musicians who share a love for chamber music and a true desire for excellence. Since their formation in 2016 at the Cleveland Institute of Music, the quartet has quickly garnered top prizes in nearly every major international chamber music competition and has been hailed by audiences across North America and Europe. Grand prize winners of the 2018 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and Second Prize Winners of the 2019 Banff International String Quartet Competition, the Callisto Quartet has also taken home prizes from the Bordeaux (2019), Melbourne (2018), and Wigmore Hall (2018) competitions. Currently serving as the Graduate String Quartet in Residence at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, they also study with Günter Pichler of the Alban Berg Quartet

While Mendelssohn's quartet op. 13 was heavily influenced by Beethoven, this movement is pure Mendelssohn! We love the incredible and unique lightness and grace he brings to his music and hope you enjoy this playful Intermezzo!

Why is there always someone coughing before they start playing lol
Why this noisy advertisement interruption in the middle? Why?
Now heading to Houston Symphony
Waaay better than Arnold Steinhardt ‼️‼️🎶👏
No one gives a hoot about pop rock or rap classical music yup
One of the greatest quartets ever written!🎉
A most creditable performance. Special thanks to the camera guy who kept the camera still and did not try to find various possible and impossible shooting angles. I really liked seeng all four interact during the entire piece.
Why has this channel been discontinued and replaced with another one of the same name but with 50% of the players substituted -- specifically the two violinists? Don't you think your fans are owed an explanation?
One of the best performances
Perfectamente 👍
A lot of fun.
Wonderful performance.

Dans ses quatuors en particulier , la musique de Bartok est déroutante, stupéfiante , comme dans un mauvais rêve , mais on en ressort ébloui .
It really is a fantastic performance! Wonderful clarity and balance. Beautiful tone and colours and perfectly synchronised. It´s a shame that the recording has artefacts although that might just be my internet connection of course. Apart from that the actual recording is phenomally good: no audience noise that I could hear: just the instruments. This piece really is such a masterpiece. Surely one of his best works if not his actual best. I haven't heard a recording as good as this from any of the great quartets. Top notch!
love it eva!

Какая небесная музыка
I Can't believe I'm falling in love with a late Bartok Quartet!!! The 2nd Movement wild, unforseeable ,great music that really grabs you along for its trip! This 1st movement is unforgettable !The Mesto is a jewel as played here! Wow!Just the music itself !The Marcia speaks like Beethoven! The music at 11:30 a second Mesto must be famous! Incredible, unforgettable tinged with folksiness Nos.4,5and 6 I was never able to pay attention to. After composing over 12 years now -I think I can follow much more. It's not really frightening ;it ain't Hadyn .The pacing ,texture changes,so many details the music instantly gives one a sense of great agreement between the 4 parts here unlike some of the earlier works. The viola solo at beginning?but Bartok has something to say and his repetitions of motifs are incredible to the ear (the sense, meaning I'm not certain of yet) A score will help me there ...The last minute will not leave one's ears .Harmonics .Amazing playing that really got something across .What incredible music !
I’m hearing this live this Thursday in Princeton with the Quartet Ebene.
I. Mesto - Più mosso, pesante - vivace 0:10 II. Mesto - Marcia 8:13 III. Mesto - Burletta - moderato 16:09 IV. Mesto 23:23
Thanks . I love Burletta
7:50, the Second Movement.
Thanks very much for posting; could you add the time stamps for the movements?
풋풋한 향기가 너무조아, 너를 만난건 행운이야 그리고 모짤트 조아
Un délice. merci. votre jeu est splendide !
I've spent the whole day going down the rabbit hole on these string quartets after searching for Pachelbel's _Canon in D_, which I fondly remember playing back in my junior high orchestra (1983-84). Thanks to the algorithm, I've encountered the Faust Quartett, the Omega Ensemble, and now the Callisto Quartet. Your musicianship is amazing; what a stellar performance. Thank you for sharing, and keep up the great work.
Excellent beautiful!
You're absolutely awesome in every way possible 🧡You have a magic touch when playing😍👏🤩
Thanks so much for posting.
Callisto Quartet? Immediate like!
Callisto Quartet? Like, then listen. :-)
Thank you for the memories -- very beautifully played. When I was in high school in Berkeley circa 1960, I used to listen to this sixth quartet often (as performed by the Julliard String Quartet), so I know it quite well. The 'old friend' was definitely recognized in your excellent performance of the work!
