The Amazing Miyajima Cake Making Machine!
Perhaps because people could still afford to buy new cars back then before the 2008 economic crash and after that the Covid pandemic? Just a theory.
@@Lensman864 i think so. Japnese are getting poor right?
The whole world is getting poor. 🙁
Which part of Shinjuku was used in Tekken 4?
Unknown and Google doesn't help. Anyone?
@Lensman864 looks like I got my answer 😅 this video that just came out is very informative about the the stage and Shinjuku itself ruclips.net/video/-LIiTIG5jWo/видео.htmlsi=FCHn0r2a4DkVbhbJ
Night of Shinjyuku is unimaginable Mysterious atmosphere and a little scary.
Nicely said!

I was just a 41 year old baby at the time. 😉 It's nice to be able to share that evening with you! 🫡
Good thing that the camera was as Japanese as the video itself. Clear as crystal.
A good point! SONY made and still make good cameras! In my SONY Tokyo video you can see me surprise the demo staff with my UK HDR-FX1 camera which was new then and on display in the SONY building.
When I'm upset, I watch old Tokyo footages and I feel better
Best version of Akihabara
Lensman, you did an absolutely incredible job capturing slice of life during your trip(s?) to Japan. What precious insight into the time just before social media.
Thank you! Very kind. 2004/05/08

I have been in love with Japan since the age of 14 (35 now), and even though Japan remains a country with people that still hold their values (unlike Western civilization) I feel that those were the last ''normal'' years. Unfortunately, even in Japan there has been such a huge influx of youtubers , influencers etc. which do have a negative impact on Japanese society in many ways. I am just glad I can enjoy a country I love so much through your videos, taken during better times.. Thank you very much!!
Hello. Thank you for your comment; I agree about Japan and I'm pleased that you find value in my output.

Very nice footage, I didn't know camcorder quality was this good in 2005, but then again I was born in 2004 so what do I know 😂
Camcorder quality was JUST this good in 2005. The SONY FX-1 had just been released as their flagship prosumer model. The Japanese were using 1080 pro cameras for broadcast for 2 or 3 years but for consumer use this was the first couple of months.
@@Lensman864 I just looked it up and wow it's pretty high-end for its time, apparently the first HDV camcorder to be released. Must feel pretty awesome to own it when it recently came out then xD
I ordered it from Ebay and I was in Japan learning how to use it a week later; very much on the job training although it was a holiday. I met a pro production team in Takayama one night and they were very interested in it. Three years later I went back with a machine much smaller, higher resolution, 5.1 surround sound (a clever mic) and a hard drive instead of tape cassette storage system. The march of technology.

Hello. I would like to use your footage of Akihabara as part of the music video I am making. Could you please give me your contact information? It's a really great video.
The most insane thing is that this video looks like it could have been recorded today, and yet all the folks in this are in their 40s now 💀
It would be very welcome to be in my 40s. 😄 (60 in 3 weeks)
The irony of the internet letting us see this but also destroying this
Destroying how? Confusing. 🤔
The videos of night time Tokyo were amazing. Especially the early 2000’s ones. Gotta love history and early eras.

Great footage of such a particular time and place!! Is there any chance I could use some brief clips for a punk mockumentary I am making?
Absolutely, if anything I've done furthers future creativity then I'm very pleased. Give me a reference in your description/credits please.
if only fashion like this was normalized again, maybe i wouldn’t feel so shamed or embarrassed to wear and buy stuff like this.
Wear what YOU want to and ignore 'fashion'. The people in my video were doing their own thing and not following fashion. Fashion is the death of creativity!

This atmosphere is similar to what I remember, when I lived in Japan for a year in '08-'09. Smart phones were on the horizon, and iPhones had either not yet quite arrived, or were extremely uncommon. Myself and everyone else I knew had some sort of flip phone, but they were years ahead of anything that I had or seen in the states at the time. Everything was still uniquely Japanese tech wise, this was the era before google maps/earth and many of the translation apps were widely available, so you used Japanese map services and denshi jisho (eletronic dictionaries). Facebook was for foreigners, mixi was where you went to have a online profile back then, though you'd be blameless if you just exchanged digital 'meishi' or contact card information with your friends instead. Come to think of it, this might have been the last year or so where separate devices (Camera, dictionaries, phone, etc) were commonly carried by many HS and college aged people. It definitely was a great time to be there, after the Tohouku Earthquake in 2011, a lot of things definitely changed. Based on things I've read, it had nearly the same societal changes that the 1995 Tokyo Subway Gas attacks and the Kobe Earthquake (the same year, 1995) had on Japan, but on a greater level with the Fukushima reactor issues. A friend had even said that a dormant volcano that he and I with some friends visited had become active with seismic activity again and could no longer be safely approached as we had once done.
Fantastic!🤩
THANK YOU! 😄
USBメモリも手軽に買える価格が128とか256MB(GBの間違いではない)だった。
We still have value friend! 👌
