Exact same route I used to take I recognize the Willamette pass then on through Silverlake, Lakeview Susanville, beautiful footage still pretty much looks the same but man what a good photographer you had great stuff!
I love this video, back when trucking was so much better than it is these days. Webers wife says the future doesn't look good from where she's sitting and if she only knew smh trucking is pretty horrible these days. I drove for 27 years, I had to get out of the big trucks 2 years ago due to health reasons. DOT and alot of the big company's took all the fun out of trucking.
I have pictures of me at 6 years old standing in front of BJ and the Bears 79 Kenworth K100 in 1981 at Bordentown Kenworth in Bordentown New Jersey. I did my 30 year hitch.
Damn awesome video,,,one of my favorite movies was "Convoy " with Kris Kristofferson(Rip American legend)when i was a kid ...In my 20s, i ended up driving semi OTR for 5 years 😂😂😂love it best work ever👍
I watched this stuff as a kid growing up and all I wanted to do was be a truck driver.I learned how to drive a truck long before I was old enough then in 1999 I was finally old enough and got my CDL.went to work for Harold Ives and was happy as could be, probably would have retired there.then a year later Harold Ives sold out to covenant and I lasted about three months there with their BS and things went downhill from there.in 2008 id had enough and went to work for a friend, let my CDL go and never looked back and glad I did.but it's a shame what the trucking industry has become,a joke.been in business for myself since 2013 and make about 40 times what I would on the best trucking job, owner operator or whatever.thanks government regulations for ruining my childhood dream.
This is an old video checkers in 2024 are very rude on the CB and they drive carefully was killing other people most truck drivers are on drugs and press for time
truckers are just cool asf my dad drove a truck I did for a while back in my 20s I always back off and block traffic when I see one needing to merge without these men and women our country just would not work period!!!
PEOPLE just dont know they say good ole days drive one from that time 600 miles it will kill ur back damn spring ride in 80s they came out with air ride best thing they ever done since they put bread on peanut butter sandwiches

Phoenix. Anybody remember The Roadrunner in Phoenix? How about the guy that used to spin-balance steer tires right there in the parking lot….on the truck?
It's really cool as a brand new trucker to see the old school ways of doing things. And the awesome cabovers. Good stuff 👍🏽 Dak if these cabovers are the ones with the sleeper berth under the seats?
There are a few. A lot of them are using the box truck. 10, 14, 18K max depending on how it's setup. Many many of them are foreign born- not all. Some come from black inner city, finding a better life. That's encouraging. I have to say the best delivery I've had lately came from a Filipino man who has been doing it for 30 years. He didn't screw anything up.
Spent three weeks at Jubitz truck stop in portland in 2016. Nothing has changed about the place from this video 40 years earlier. One of the better truck stops in America.
C.W. McCall was literally my next door neighbor in Ouray, Colorado 30 years ago. Much of the trucking "craze" was drummed up by Hollywood, money-grubbing con-artists. They played the general public with stupid movies and stupid music portraying the hardworking, productive American men who sacrifice themselves mostly for the benefit of the sleazy, filthy bankers and their Hollywood counterparts. When you see a 'man' who produces little to nothing but has everything, know where "everything" he has actually comes from; the WORKING MAN. No exceptions and no apologies. We workingmen have to start out-thinking the con-artists starting with 'the bankers' who are counterfeiters and nothing else. They purchase loyalty from the weaklings who pave the way for their bloodsucking scams. We can circumvent them by learning the rules of the game. Their counterfeiting won't stand up in court when you show their "contracts" violate every law on the books regarding the laws of contracts. They don't have any skin in the game, i.e. they have no consideration in the contract which thereby nullifies the contract; this is simply the law. In other words, if they pretended to "lend you money" to buy a truck you can force them to show the court their lawful consideration which means, what did they give up or what did they have to transfer to you to then use to buy your truck? They had nothing and therefore they gave nothing. It was all done on YOUR SIGNATURE. Therefore, lawfully and legally, you literally lent the money to buy your truck to yourself. In other words, you owe the money to yourself. This legal concept is playing out in courtrooms across America right now regarding home mortgages as well as business "loans". The tide is turning so tune in when someone mentions it. He who does the work owns the rewards. He who counterfeits and lies goes to prison where he belongs. The workingman is also the government; the only government. Never forget and never give up. The Declaration Of Independence has never been defeated. You are free because your great-great-grandfathers DECLARED IT and made "them" die who said it wasn't so. Nothing has changed. Ignore Hollywood and ignore government suck-ups. You are the lawful authority in this land. No exceptions and no apologies. Drive trucks and rule over your land. Learning the rules isn't all that difficult.
Exact same route I used to take I recognize the Willamette pass then on through Silverlake, Lakeview Susanville, beautiful footage still pretty much looks the same but man what a good photographer you had great stuff!
That small cabover is the coolest shit ever ❤
Great film👍,the trucks and drivers the fabric of a generation,i grew up in this era, sadly its so different today.

Wow, I thought all the paperwork was a recent thing the FMCSA imposed.
God bless America forever🇺🇸 🎉
THESE TRUCKERS WERE SEXY BACK THEN
The desert part of that haul could be brutal in the summer time. Winter not so bad though, one set of 3 railers was all you needed.

These days are long gone. Sad the flip flop mafia is taking over. Automatic transmissions ruined trucking.
Simple times

I drove for 25 years.i don t miss it at all.
Damn awesome video,,,one of my favorite movies was "Convoy " with Kris Kristofferson(Rip American legend)when i was a kid ...In my 20s, i ended up driving semi OTR for 5 years 😂😂😂love it best work ever👍
The "it takes on big man to do it" got me. If she only knew that there would be 80 lb female trucking influencers in 2024. 🤣

Those 2-stroke are 1 hell of a different breed of trucks and truckers.

"To many chiefs not enough Indians"😂😂😂

that would be about $40 U.S.D. today
I bet these old school truckers let you pass and dont speed up when you get in the left lane to pass .
PEOPLE just dont know they say good ole days drive one from that time 600 miles it will kill ur back damn spring ride in 80s they came out with air ride best thing they ever done since they put bread on peanut butter sandwiches

Truck drivers do not say "GOOD BUDDY" as this means homosexual..
No blacks or sandblacks in trucking back then What a blessing
Like always, its been the damn worthless government; that has completely destroyed trucking, and everything in general

Today in the United States my ex mother-in-law is a long haul trucker. She is 4’9 she can shift them gears like any man out here.
"...where i just wanna take this truck and shove it up someone's *whooosh*" that's how i felt when I drove too.
No hard hats at the mill or nothing wow
What happened to all those awesome old Cabovers?? Don’t see those anymore.
Европа тогда выглядела круче америки
Прикольная документалка. Интересно посмотреть.
Yeah and look at it now there is no independent truck drivers they all got pushed out by big business!
