The Security Space | Episode 70 | Rachel Lennox | How to Scale Up an Early-Stage Security Vendor
Early stage vendors not only have to scale up fast, but they have to do it the right way, otherwise their eventual hopes of an IPO/Exit are at risk.
Of course receiving millions in the bank for Series A/B/C and beyond is cause for celebration. Its a testament to the Founders product, the problem it solves in line with the market, the GTM strategy, the work they've already done with clients. However, a major threat to this success is often throwing lots of money at the wrong people. People that haven't experienced the early-stage life before. People that don't understand your ICP. People that don't fit with your growth.

I don't think many realize how much the Army can train and develop someone. Clearly Scott is incredibly clever (i know first hand) and well motivated, which helps. We have similar stories, so I know how school and civilian life can miss potential in people, but a good mentor and opportunity can transform your life.

Think this video is a bit too Chat GPT heavy with the 'danger' as always being the Human. Most the content was about the NLP and a archaic dataset. Tim brought a good point away from this with AI's self critical analysis to construct the best path of attack. IMO the dangers of AI are the self learning powers based on its own experience and then spawns SkyNet! Both red and blue teamers are going to be battlebotting with their AI's in the future. Not sure I agree with the 'no zero days', if someone's ai uses all the frameworks and constructs its own killchain then surely that's a zero day and there will be more than ever before? Anyhoo, just my 2p's worth lol! :)
