First off I just want to say the way you light up when talking about Ghana is so pure it brought tears to my eyes when you talked about crying coming home because I could really feel for you. Thats so interesting what you said about the left hand custom - I'm left handed so I don't know how I would be able to handle that 😂 I loved hearing you speak about Ghana, I feel like I learned so much about the country. Oh my gosh when you talked about closing your eyes and feeling the places and seeing them I teared up again 😭😭 I can also really relate to what you said about friendlyness and the dining hall as Australians are also so friendly and outgoing, when I got back to Canada I felt something within me tighten up as I became more closed off like I used to be. Finally, what you said about feeling home and surrounded by your sisters in Ghana was so beautiful 💖 Absolutely loved this! Congrats on making something so truthful & vulnerable, an amazing video!! How do you find people’s perception of the piercing s, Ghanains are a bit conservative and piecing aren’t very popular there
From the looks that I received and also talking to my Ghanaian friends about how young and older people perceive my piercings, I believe that some individuals are still holding very tightly to stereotype traditions that people with piercings are dangerous/thugs/gangsters/rebels/unintelligent. But some people really liked them and even complimented me! The constant gawking did make me uncomfortable, but I realize how my appearance was new for a lot of people. Thanks for your question :))
