fee bay does nothing to these"bad" buyers. Sellers need to be able to give real time feedback both pos/neg if experience warrants it. By offering refunds, your book biz can become a "lending library".

It disturbs me to sell an very nice, expensive item but not get feedback for it. I will ask, and it is disappointing when there is no response. I communicate quite a bit with buyers and establishing the repoir has made the business pleasant for myself and for them. Right now though I'm dealing with a stinker. Usually I cave but this time I will not because the buyer damaged the item then accused me of sending it damaged. She has been uncooperative and the photo she gave in the return request made it look hugely damaged when it is not. I know. I know. We have to choose our battles. And this is one I am choosing. Not because I'm feeling like a doormat but because right out the gate she has acted insincerely. I wish I'd never replied to her annoying question to begin with before she bid on it, because the question was annoying. I should have known better. I was having issues too with a set of Christmas dishes everyone in the world seemed interested in. It became so ridiculous with low-ball offers that I lost one of the cups and cancelled the listing. Even afterward a person was trying to make an offer. I told him to go buy the inferior sets listed for 3 times my starting bid. I found the cup and had kept the set for my own. Fun fun fun, right? Thanks for sharing. I hope you manage to escape Portland.

Believers of the original Shepherd's Rod message were not Branch Davidians, they were Davidian Adventist! The Branch Davidians with David Koresh branched off of the Davidian Adventist. Victor Houteff simply wrote a message to encourage Seventh Day Adventist to be better adventist. It was a message of encouragement. The upper leadership disagreed with his message and disfellowshipped him. I've read the entire message and I saw nothing contrary to the word of God. I can tell this presenter never read it.

Terrible advice, don't give refunds, you are enabling the scammers. A buyer can return the item if they don't like it, block buyers who offer low ball, block buyers who ask dumb questions, end your item and schedule to list again in two weeks. Block & Report most of all scammer/idiot buyers, before they contact you to complain. After a sale, you can block a buyer before there item even arrives, then when they get it, they cannot contact you and need to go thru ebay with whatever return scam they are trying, do not negotiate with ebyrrists. What if they leave a negative? Ebay will have it removed, because you already reported them as a scammer. That guy who canceled the order two times, you shoulda blocked him after the first cancel, then reported his scammer behavior, then end item and reschedule for two weeks later. Don't deal with idiots, you don't have to.

Would laying the newspapers on squares of cardboard (stacked) be helpful? I'm very uncertain on acidity and oxidation factors, and seem to be surprised by the various red flags out there, so I'm asking to avoid a preventable blunder. TY in advance!

What about food dehidrator? Let's say a cycle of 3-4hours at 50°C, might work to kill the mold? I've got some old books from year 1780 but they stink a lot of mold.

As a buyer, i always leave positive feedback. If there was a problem, i just don't leave any. As a seller, the general etiquette is that buyers always leave feedback first, and sellers wait for feedback before leaving theirs. Its always worked that way, but within the last couple of years, ive noticed that most buyers wait for the seller to leave feedback first, which is pointless, and defeats the purpose. Back in the day, if you were the seller, and didn't receive feedback, it was polite to just send the buyer a message reminder. If i were to ever get negative feedback, i just wouldn't bother leaving them any at all. I don't like leaving bad feedback.
