M.V. GRAMPIAN PRIDE RESCUE VESSEL DEANS MARINE
Hi
Another refurb of the older models in the showroom, this one is approx 12 years old.
Old 27mg radio and bobs board and motor stripped out and new Nimh batteries, ESC and motor fitted, linked through 1 x10amp ESC plus a battery for the bow thruster and a lot of ballast.
We spent a lot of time getting the balance spot on and motor fitted in cradles with foam pads to insulate from the hull, Double coupling,
Tested on a very windy day. but it was nice a sunny until we got to the lake she handled a treat just as the sun was setting, hoping to get a nice atmospheric shot into the sunset , maybe we can get her out again in the sunshine and no wind.
Model is 1/48th scale, length 830mm beam 200mm...

Test run of the running gear set by Deans Marine for the USS Curtis Wilbur r/c model. First test run most part not fixed in place or fixed ballast so a bit rattly to test handling and stability, all seems good for first run, not to fix it all in place inside. Ducks seem to like it as well so it can not be to noisy.

It looks like it could use some ballast, it rides a bit high. A 6v led acid battery would help with that.

My Grandfather served the entire war on HMS Enchantress including the action off Bougie Algeria when Enchantress depthcharged the Corallo one of the largest submarines in the Italian Navy. The crew showing a lot of courage as they raced to bring the subs deck gun into action. The Captain of the Enchantress ordered full speed and rammed the Corallo passing right over the sub and cutting it in two. It sank immediately with the loss of all hands. Is this kit still available? Would it be very difficult for a novice modelmaker to assemble?
